Maybe we can be our own local support group. BTW, the nutritionist that I am seeing has another client that is having the local Dr doing their surgery, asked her if she could ask the other patient to call me, maybe a group of 3? Guest guest
That's who I contacted too, Karin. Was not impressed a bit. I am so grateful that I found Dr. R's site and knew that there was an alternative out there. I'll be glad to make that 8 hour trip! Wonder if this was the same doctor Lynda contacted? Bonnie in Pittsburgh Hey Bonnie, I also checked out the lap RNY with Dr. Schauer at UPMC cause I live 2 hrs from Pittsburgh. I got the same impression as you did. I didn't like the way they set up their pre-op paperwork and evaluations either, plus he doesn't do near the volume of surgeries that Dr. R. does. Practice makes perfect! I'm so glad I drove 8 hrs to Durham! Karin Eby MGB 9/20, -60 lbs.
Guest guest
Bonnie, my sister came from stown to have the surgery with Dr. R... you should contact her for her thoughts about it. Her email is potsstop@.... I know she would be happy to discuss it with you in more detail. By the way, did you know that Dr. R is originally from Pennsylvania .... stown also! Guest guest
Hey , So you're Janet's sister? Small world! I spoke with her pre-op as one of my contacts, and she called me after surgery too. Nice lady! She told me about " her sister " who had the MOB too! I live about 1-1/2 hrs from stown in central Pa. If Dr. R. ever comes down this way, he has a standing invite! (I think he said he still has an Uncle in stown) later, Karin Eby, RN ( MGB 9/20, -60 lbs.)
