Guest guest
It would be impossible for us to say if it decreases her survival rates. Do you know what Stage she is, how aggressive the cancer was, ER/PR negative or positive. All of these factors going into the treatment and survival rates. I will keep her in my prayers. Guest guest
If radiation were recommended, and she is not doing it, I would think it would increase her chance of recurrence. Your sister should talk with her oncologist who can explain why she needs the radiation and what impact it will have not to do it. Why doesn't she want to go? Is she feeling tired and overwhelmed? Does she have someone she can talk to at the hospital or support group? Maybe she could email this group and we could tell her our experiences and give us support. - Huong Tran wrote on 5/3/2006, 6:13 PM: > Hi, > > My concern is my sister just finished chemo about 6 months ago but did > not > follow through w/ her radiation session. > > Does the survival rate decrease? She is so stubborn, with the " whatever happens, happens " atttitude. My concern is now w/ her chest and back pains, she could be catching bone cancer like my mom had. > > > > > > > > >
