Guest guest
Patti, I went to our family dr on a Fri. He sent me for a mammo and said we needed a surgeon. We told him we didn't have one and he said I will get the one that did my wifes surgery for you. He called him, we met the surgeon that afternoon around 5:30. He checked the mammo and said I needed a biopsy and said follow me and he did the biopsy in the ER. I had my results on Mon. morning. I will keep you in my prayers. I guess how it works is the surgeon wants to do his own exam to see if it's palpable; looks at everything himself and then decides what kind of biopsy he is going to do. His case manager said either ultrasound or steri something or other. I should walk out of the office with appointments and plan in hand. I am assuming that the " plan " would be whats going to happen up to getting the results. I don't know. I know it's only been since Monday afternoon that they saw this mass, but it seems like things are taking so long. The impression I had when I left the radiologists office was I would be back in already for the biopsy, seems I am wrong. Was I wrong for thinking a biopsy could come that fast? Is that fast? Now I am going to have to wait until the end of next week because the radiology dept only does biopsies on Thursday and Friday's. Then something like 2-4 business days for the biopsy results. The plus side, I have gotten the surgeon that I wanted to see. He's very busy, but he is the one who treated my mother so he knows our history and I alreay have a repoure with him. I just want to know one way or the other. Patience is not my strong point. Thanks for listening Patti
Guest guest
nne, Wow that was fast. Saw the surgeon today. He believes it to be benign but with family history he is going to do a ultrasound guided biopsy. When the results come back negative he will call me on the phone and tell me. IF they come back positive he will ask me to come into the office and bring someone with. But when it comes back negative he is going to put me on some antibiotics for 3 weeks and if the lump still has not gone away he wants to go in and remove it. My biopsy is scheduled for next thrusday at 3 pm and will have the results by the following Wednesday. Thank you for your prayers Patti -- Re: Dr Appointment tomorrow Patti, I went to our family dr on a Fri. He sent me for a mammo and said we needed a surgeon.
