Guest guest
Had another (3) month oncology checkup tonight at 6pm - Dr. thought I looked wonderful (sure, he saw me in my suit all dressed up from work!) Everything looks good, at all incision sites, underarms, etc. I told him don't worry - I probably check my own body better than he does! He laughs at me. Love that guy!! I'm half-way through Herceptin and will continue till January 6th. Started monthly Lupron injections to shut down my estrogen (in my butt, thank you very much!!) He asked me if I wanted to stop the Tamoxifen and switch to either Femara or Arimidex...I told him I would think about it. I've been having some vision problems lately, where especially my left eye is a little more blurry than usual. I showed him a " bony " spot I noticed on my forehead right before my hairline. It actually looks like it's part of my skull, not a pimple or anything - hard like a bone. He gave me a script for a bone scan, as he is curious now too. He wasn't overly concerned, although mainly curious. I had a PET/CAT about 4 months ago, and it didn't show anything. I did tell him I didn't notice it 4 months ago; only about 1 1/2 months ago. Must be from my brain working so hard at work after it's extended 2 year vacation! Tamoxifen is also known for causing problems both with corneas and retinas, so who knows. It may be one more reason to get off it. I'm just afraid of joint pain with Arimidex. Tomorrow is my 47th birthday and I'm " tickled " pink. Just celebrated my 2 year cancer-free anniversary and now 47~!!! Wonders never cease! And I " STILL " love the job! Today is 60 days (where did THAT go???) Senior partner called me in to wish me luck tonight at the doctor's - Hope you're all doing well and know you'll all in my thoughts daily. Guest guest
I've been on the Arimidex for a month and a half and so far no issues with joint pain. Of course I take Arthritic strength tylenol twice a day for other issues. Hmmmmmm, maybe that is why I don't have joint pain! Ruth PS So pleased things are going well. > > Had another (3) month oncology checkup tonight at 6pm - Dr. thought I looked > wonderful (sure, he saw me in my suit all dressed up from work!) Guest guest
Hi , That's great! Two years cancer free! That's wonderful. They say those first two years are the critical ones and you are done with them! I love good stories, they give me incentive to try to keep positive thoughts! Thanks and congratulations! Guest guest
, What a strange coincidence! I had never heard of anyone else having a " bony " spot on one's forehead! I have had one for several years. Never mentioned it to the doctor until today. She felt it and said it was probably nothing, just more noticable as I get older, and that it probably all started when I was a child from a bump on the forehead. I just notice it more because my hair is just now coming back in and I still don't have any bangs yet. My husband says I am sprouting horns!!! Let me know if they schedule any scans. Take care, Carol from Eastern Ohio > > Had another (3) month oncology checkup tonight at 6pm - Dr. thought I looked > wonderful (sure, he saw me in my suit all dressed up from work!)
