Re: ROLL CALL! PLEASE CHECK IN!

Hi Everyone, I'm Terri from Half Moon Bay, California. I'm just over 2 years

post op, down

130 lbs and now at the phase where I'm working to keep my weight off. I think

it will be a

never ending battle. :)

Thanks for your encouragement. I am sure I will need much more in

the days to come. I go Friday for an endoscopy (Don't know if I am

spelling that correctly!) Then, if all is well I will have my

surgery in two weeks.

It is exciting, but I just need to get over this scared hump!!

After some testing Friday, I will meet again with my doctor Wed.,

and he feels we may be ready in a week or two!! I can't even stay

on the liver shrinking diet though. LOL I keep thinking it is my

last meal, and I want to cheat. I know I can do this though, and I

can't wait to get started. How are you feeling about everything?

Hi,

Ann from Arizona is here. Sorry I don't post a lot, I do love

to check on how you all are doing. I'm still waiting for my

Psyc eval which is the 10th of August and then hopefully

I'm on my way to 'loserhood'. YAY. They say this is the last

Hoop to jump through but I've heard that before. I'm going crazy waiting!!!

Good luck !!!

Hope you get approved. I was denied by BCBS/TN...it's not written into

my employer's plan! So, I had to go the self pay route!

insurance(kaiser) last year. They said I was a healthy fat girl (if that is

possible) I went into a severe depression after that. I was so counting on the

surgery to turn my life around. I am the mother of 4 boys and I am currently at

the highest weight of my life. I felt the surgery would let me become more

active in going places with my husband and children. I let my weight stop me

from so many things, but some people don't understand the amount of criticism

and prejudice there is out there against people who society label as morbidly

obese. i was so humiliated the first time i saw that in a doctors report. I am

reapplying for surgery on 8-8-06. Wish me luck.

It's to help make the surgery easier. The liver sits on the stomach &

they have to move & work around it. If you shrink it it makes it easier

& reduces the risk of them nicking the liver.

I guess that means at my appointment in the morning I better be

honest and let him know that I didn't stick to it. Of course, I am

sure he can tell that since I didn't lose any weight. It is just

hard to do just liquids for 2 weeks when you know what is headed

your way. I guess that is pretty stupid. This will set my surgery

date back, but it is my own fault.
