Today on Kim Komando's website she posted the following link concerning the

connection of weather and pain. Thought it would be of interest to

everyone.

Feeling the weather----Kim Komando

Being National Arthritis Month, I thought we should talk about aches and

pains. My grandma used to predict the weather by her sore wrists. As a

child, I didn't believe that was possible. Now, it's a known fact that the

weather can affect people directly.

Today's Cool Site allows you to get more than a weather forecast. It will

also predict how much that weather will cause pain. Simply enter your ZIP

code. Pain is measured on a numerical scale.

A U.S. map is also available to track the Aches and Pains Index. You can

change the map to check for air quality, allergies and other health issues.

An explanation of how the weather causes pain is also on the site. When

explained, it seems very logical. I guess my grandma could sense the weather

after all.

I have had stills since I was 16...that was yesterday in 1972. I used to

tell people, that weather had nothing to do with it and that it did its own

thing. It was a surprise party from ..... you got it.

But now, the stills is not active but I get flares of all kinds of

rheumatological problems. I will not bore you. But weather does make me

stiff..very

stiff and sore. Maybe it is old age rheumatism..or fibromyalgia...but...a

change in weather does irritate it.

I just noticed this this year at the tender age of 52.

Hugs

Liz

Hi Everyone,

Weather definately plays a part in my pain, swelling and just all over not

well feeling.I shall however keep on keeping on,because after all I am a brave

coward! I pulled every darn muscle from one side to the other around my back at

hip level,it was a 5 vicodin day yesterday!A I did was try to open a window! It

was so humid that the wood swelled up and the window wouldn't budge, but all my

muscles did!

love Elly
