Guest guest
Mike,I love your shirt !!!!!!This is just so totally awesome! Please consider your health first before your love of biking. If everything, no flu, good knee and weather line up then go for it.Lee Here's the update: I have pictures of the shirt located at http://psc.zaloudek.net The pictures are links to larger versions with more details. One of my original goals was to get 200 signatures. Today I have 209 signatures and 300 is my revised goal. As far as the donations, my original goal was $1 a signature for $200 total. I quickly revised that goal since I had $200 in the first few days. On Tuesday alone even after doing this for several weeks I was still able to raise $413 in one day. I went to see a bunch of people I work that had not donated yet and I received two $100 checks in the mail. $75 came from a volunteer at work who took my shirt around to people in his department that I didn't even know. My new goal for the fund raiser is $*000.00 - You will have to wait until Pittsburgh to see what I can do. I still have a few tricks in my bag. I work at the s Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. I spoke to the head of my old department, who is now the VP of Corporate Security, Parking and Transportation. He said that not only did he want to donate, but he wanted to do something within the department to help with fund raising. They created a flyer asking for donations and are holding a raffle for a computer donated by Dell and possibly a bicycle they are trying to get donated by a local shop. Their department is huge as in @ 500 people so I can only hope for the best. I have also had good luck with an Email that I have been sending out. If anyone wants a copy let me know. It is responsible for several hundred easy dollars. My plan is still to transport myself to Pittsburgh via bicycle. I decided to take three days to do it instead or two so I only have to do @ 90 miles a day. There are a lot of things working against me but I hope to still be able to do the full ride. There are three potential problems. 1. I have been sick with the flu/virus for 2 1/2 weeks and have been unable to ride my bike to train and I am not sure there is enough time left to build up properly. 2. My left knee has been a problem that I am not sure I can fully rehab in time. 3. Weather can always turn the ride miserable or difficult. If anyone has route suggestions from Baltimore to Pittsburgh, I am all ears. Mike Z Mike Z, 34, PSC 99, Severna Park, MD -About Me-
Guest guest
Mike, Good luck on the bike trek to Pittsburgh. I am ashamed to say that there is no way I could ever do that. You are welcome to stay with us on the way if you would like…we have a futon in the basement with a fireplace…. We are on the way…depending on how you go…near burg PA… So what are you saying to people when you have your shirt? I am having trouble getting started. I think as long as I get the first few done I will be okay. So far what I have is replies from my e-mail…people have come to me. I need to hit my street and get some. Being a stay-at-home mom we don’t have a ton of exposure. We do go to the doctor next week…I guess I will take it there.

Guest guest
Thanks Don, and Lee, I am on a roll here - I just heard today from my old department at Hopkins, Corporate Security, that they are beginning the raffle for PSC Partners. I was really surprised at the great prizes they will be offering. I will post a link to the Flyer, but they have three items: Dell Computer donated a very nice Lattitude D610 laptop worth over $1500 Broadway Services Donated a 20" Flat screen TV Metropolitan Healthcare Services Donates a $200 gift certificate to Morton's Steak House Here is a copy of the flyer: http://www.zaloudek.net/psc/raffle.pdf MikeZ Mike Z Mike Z, 34, PSC 99, Severna Park, MD -About Me- Don & Ricky Safer wrote: Mike Z Dear Mike, Your picture of the famous shirt is awesome. Guest guest
Marti, I will have to check with the folks running the raffle. Initially they were thinking of limiting the tickets to their department at Hopkins (they have 500+ people) I am pretty sure it is open to other people at Hopkins, but I will need to verify that people outside the institution are welcome. Logistically it will be a little bit tricky, but If we can do it, I could always collect the money and keep track of the tickets and scan in your tickets and Email them to you and if yours wins, coordinate delivery of the items. Is Morton's Steakhouse National? MikeZ Mike Z Mike Z, 34, PSC 99, Severna Park, MD -About Me- Marti wrote: For those of us not going to the conference can we send money to get in the raffle?
