Guest guest
..de is Deutschland and .dk is Denmark. You know I disagree that " all people in AA, trying AA, or confounded by AA suffer from Recovery Group Disorders. " Far from everyone there is there by choice and therefore not there because they have a mental disorder. The cure is quicker, and also not so quick. You can quit going to AA whenever you choose, but changing the thinking learned there (and from society at large) as you well know isn't that easy to change quickly. Guest guest
You are not in the wrong group, you have simply stumbled into an off-topic thread that some people feel strongly about. Stick around, you will find you are in the right place. > Hi > > My name is and I have just joined this egroup in the hope that I would find some inspiration and/or support after dumping AA and the disease thinking of Alcoholism. Guest guest
Welcome! Believe it or not, this is a pretty good resource for inspiration, information, and even support sometimes. Start in on some 'recovery' type topic and I guarantee you will not be ignored. The gun topic is actually not as far off base as it may seem at first. Several subscribers to the list are people who have fought compulsory AA in the US courts. Thus religious liberty comes up as a topic, and sometimes it drags other Constitutional issues along with it. Some also see the 12 Step groups as a direct threat to freedom and/or national security, being a sort of collectivist, irrationalist, or fascist movement. There are also those who have a high regard for Szasz's opinion that drug prohibitions are an infringement of a basic human right. Hence the gun question as a sort of test case for distinguishing what substances or objects (drugs, alcohol, guns, asbestos, or whatever) may be prohibited. Btw, not everyone is using RR to deal with an addiction. Some were coerced toward AA without ever having had anything like a real addiction problem. Others were involved with offshoots like OA or ACOA, or had loved ones wrecked by the steps or are just interested in the problem. Some of us drink, and others of us don't. --wally ----- Original Message ----- From: richard.durham1 Hi My name is and I have just joined this egroup in the hope that I would find some inspiration and/or support after dumping AA and the disease thinking of Alcoholism. Guest guest
, WELCOME. No, you’re not in the wrong group. There has been quite a bit “raging” on the gun ownership topic lately, though… sort of OT (Off Topic). I am sorry tosay tha in my own case it has been little more than just a waste of tiome and energy; imo the gun control question has nothing at all with the drug control question. P. Guest guest
Hi Cari!! So good to hear from you! Poor ...Poor YOU!!!! I imagine we can chip in and get you some hair color to hide that gray...no problem! Good for Shelby...sometimes you just have to go through the stages of grief for yourself...even at her young age. You are such a wonderful mom....good you had that talk with her, it's just what she needed. Sounds like she's got her program in place, not to mention her spirit! You have to be proud of her. You take very good care of everyone and yourself! Hugs, Lynn Hello Hi to all,I have gone to condensed digest to try and keep up with everyone.Vicki - I do believe that I requested a personal e-mail from anyone with important news. I believe that the talk of a lung transplant would of fallen under that heading. Hope you are adjusting to the oxygen. I am glad you are blessed with such a wonderful Dr. Keep us posted. Ed - You are probably home by now. I am sorry you didn't get to come home with a firm dx. It angers me that they tried to blame your symptoms on stress. While it is very true that stress can make symptoms worse, stress would not be the cause of your symtoms. We were warned with Shelby's disease that we would run into a lot of that. Specialists saying it was all psychological, but we have been lucky. Sometimes I think the stress dx is a cop-out for Dr.'s who just don't want to admit they can't find a dx. Eisenhower hospital is located here in Augusta, GA at Ft. Gordon which is only about 15 minutes from my home. It is supposed to have a wonderful reputation. If there is anyone there that can help you, you and/or would be welcome to stay at our home. Might be worth looking into. You would have "family" to stay with. Oh! I have definitely missed something with the gourd. I am so confused! LOL - My prayers are definitely with you and your family. Hope you had a good weekend.Lynn - I suffered from hot flashes about 1 year after my hysterectomy. I guess I had them all over. Felt flush from head to toe but the worst hot flashes were at night. I would put a pile of T-shirts on the end of the bed and would have to change them several times a night. I would wake up drenched in sweat and would then get the chills. Had to change the sheets daily.Cheri - Great picture! I absolutely love the curls. To everyone else - I hope you are all doing well.Shelby is walking again. Things got scary for awhile but her and I had a heart to heart last weekend. She had seemed almost resolved to being on the crutches. I explained that if she wanted off of them and to be pain free she would have to fight for it. She understood what I meant having watched , even at the age of 3 doing everything he could to crawl and then walk. How he would try for minutes to get up off the floor by himself. She had a change in attitude and is getting better daily. Whether she will relapse, stay in remission etc....well, only time will tell. She has taken control of the disease, has medication charts and Physical therapy charts on the refrigerator. I am so proud of her. The kids have been off of school all week and go back tomorrow. Will see how a whole day with all that activity goes. RSD is hard to explain. The nerves are confused and are telling her brain that the leg has an injury so the brain is telling the nerves to hurt, hurt, hurt. The pain is awful and is described as a cold burn. Pain medication doesn't help. She is on Neurotin and that took a few weeks to kick in and it does seem to be helping. Physical therapy is the cure. She has to work against the pain, letting her brain know it is getting the wrong signals. It would be like telling to use his broken arm no matter how much it hurts. She is doing great!!! broke his arm over a week ago. Both bones behind the wrist, clean through but the radius also cracked up into the growth plate. he jumped off the slide at school before he was at the bottome and his foot caught. He was trying to avoid being tagged. He was in a lot of pain but after one dose of Tylenol w/codeine he wanted to go out and play ball. I told him No, my nerves couldn't take it. He got a shorter cast this week and goes back to T-ball practice this week. Slowed him down for about 4 hours. Gave me a few more gray hairs.Hugs to all,Cari
Guest guest
Thanks Cari! While I may not have come home with a firm dx, my gourd survived the trip none the worse for wear LOL. Did Eisenhower Hospital do anything for you guys? Do they dabble in mito diseases? I'll have to look up Fort Gordon on the web and see what I can find out about the hospital there. Thanks for the offer for accomodations too. That's very generous of you! Guest guest
Hi Cari Fortunately Garden Ridge is way over on the other side of town.......much too easy to get carried away in there. I don't buy beads there. They carry plastic beads and more " crafty " type then I use, but I can find plenty of other goodies. When I was there the other day some placemats in the shape of cats jumped in my cart...LOL......of yes, I can get in a lot of trouble there. Teddi mailto:teddifromok@... Guest guest
Cari, Sorry to hear of the flare. I'll add an extra prayer or two for your family. We go through a lot with being picked on too. It's not easy. Of course, in our own town, the offending children would be assigned extra chores by Judge ! I'm sure Lelia could come up with some innovative " incentive " to modify their behavior too! Ed > Hi to all, > Shelby began a flare on Monday. Guest guest
Good to hear that Shelby had a better day. I would love to see the movie at the IMAX that sounds great. You guys have a good time, you deserve a break. I would not let Hildi near my house either, or Doug. I like about 1/2 of what Genevieve has done but I love Lauri!!! Even she has had a couple that I was not too fond of, but for the most part I like them. Hildy did Main's (from the Dixie Chicks) Mom's spare room/sewing room and I really liked what she did. It was on last weekend. It was one of the only rooms she has done that I like. Take care, have a great weekend! Zanna

Guest guest
Do you have a copy of " THE KETOGENIC DIET " book? It has recipes in it that you will need to calculate You can use the Stanford meal planner and download it (excel) Or purchase the mealplanner from Hopkins There are recipes in the Keto files For my daughter, when there are parties, the cheesecakes work well , also the macadamia muffins, Butter lollipops, pancakes with whipped cream and fruit on top Ice cream recipes are on file also (frozen flavored cream) It is amazing how well the diet works into everyday life Good luck If you need a specific meal, give the members your stats and we can help you Sandi mom to Zara keto kid for 2 yrs

Guest guest
Greetings! I joined this board last December, and I usually read the messages rather than post, but thought I'd send a message since we are in the same boat right now. I am so sorry to hear about your loss! I lost two babies last year (one in July 2002 at 7 weeks, and one in December at 8 weeks). It was a crazy, sad year, and it took a lot to finally figure out what was going on. On July 23rd I had my septum removed, and my RE said that he wanted to wait two cycles before doing an HSG to see if all is well. He said we could TTC if the HSG was good. I also has a balloon in (for only 3 days), and have been in hormone hell! My RE gave me a shot hormones (darn!I can't remember the name!) before surgery to thin out the lining of my uterus, then had me on premarin, then on provera for the last 5 days. I know what you mean when you say your body is feeling screwed up! I hope everything looks good on your HSG! Keep us posted! Good luck!
