JD, that's not a " worst week " , it's an exercise in how much the human

mind and body can withstand. It's also quite enough to last for several

years. What a horrible, horrible time for you and your family.

My prayers are indeed with you. Keep your chin up and turn to Psalm 46

" God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.

Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains

fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the

mountains quake with their surging. "

Do keep us posted on how your mother, wife, son and sister are doing.

Make sure you take time for a few deep breaths every so often. We don't

want you to be the next one admitted to the hospital.

May God grant you His peace .... all enfolding, comforting, sustaining

peace.

Warm regards,

Carolyn B. in SC

Very sorry to hear your many problems. I work(ed) in mental health and

although ECT can seem alarming there are times when it is the last

resort but it can have very good effects. My prayers are with you.

Remember there is always light at the end of the tunnel. Hang on in

there.

Thinking of you and your family JD.Hang on, when things get this complicated, there has to be a reprieve around the corner!Your "dry" run will help the family cope and ready themselves to accept when it is truly your mother's time.Ear infections clear up.Broken arms mend.Depression has many treatments. You will find one that works at the hands of a competent doctor.I know how overwhelmed you must be right now. It sure seems like someone is out to get you when things come in bunches. Take them apart. One at a time.Take care and let us know as things get resolved.Add my prayers for your family to all the others coming in.LeeOn Feb 19, 2006, at 11:20 PM, JD & MARLENE KRMPOTICH wrote:Dear All     This past week has been one at the worst. Dear JD;

I'm so sorry to hear of all your loved-one's problems this last week.

This must be quite a burden for you. I will be praying for you and

your family. I was particularly saddenend to hear of 's

depression. In the past, I have had depression, but I was fortunate to

have strong support from family, and a quick response to medication

(Zoloft). I hope that Dr's can find a suitable medication for

to help her.

Best regards,

JD,

Hang in there. So much to handle at the same time but take a deep

breathe when it becomes too much and relax. You have so many people

relying on you. Sorry you have all that to handle apart from your own

health. I'll keep you on in my prayers.

JD,

Most antidepressants take 6 weeks to take hold and for the patient to see results. Shock treatment often has permanent effects on short term memory. I would make sure that you have exhausted your antidepressant resources. It sucks that it can take so darn long to see results. Sometimes it can take a year or two to discover the right med for a particular individual, but my uncle is one who was too impatient to stay the course of treatment long enough to see results. He did the shock therapy and regrets it more than anything else he's ever done. He also suffered a heart attack shortly after the treatment. I high recommend great caution before going there. My entire family survived on antidepressants for 10 years. I'm not expert but I've got a lot of experiences, not all of which were good. If you want to talk, feel free to email me off list. You are talking irreversible damages from shock treatments. I would get several doctors opinions before heading down that path.

You and all of your family our in my prayers!

Peace & Love,

JD - Not sure how I missed this a few days ago, but I'll add my

prayers to the lot. I'm so sorry. I wish there were more that I can

say, except - you've been through a lot already and so I know you can

handle what lies ahead. One day, one hour, one moment at a time works

best -

Hang in there with hope -

JD,

You and your family are in my prayers. Take care of yourself and

your little one with the dueling ear infections. I hope things start

looking up for your wife. A friend of mine's wife had to have shock

therapy for a severe bout of post-partum depression and it worked

for her. I can only hope that if it comes to that, your wife will

respond well also. I battled my own depression triggered by my son's

diagnosis nearly 2 years ago -- PSC is not easy on the caregivers

either.

You will get through it, your wife will get through it, your

sister's bones will mend, and your mother will continue on by the

Grace of God.

Hang in there and hold on tight to your little one. When they fall

asleep on you and you hear their breath in your ear, for just a

little while, everything is all right.

Peace,

Dana
