Guest guest
Actually that was just a play of words on a " PLAY " called " A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum " After reading Mike's restaurant funnies, I thought I'd start this thread... For those who don't know, I am a singer and recording artist (part time anyway), and I do concerts, and I travel and sing at churches for Homecomings and other events as well. Anyway last week I sang for a Homecoming service and afterwards they had a meal...........BOY did they have a meal; and after not being able to stay afterwards the week before when I sang at another Homecoming, I told my husband we would stay to eat. Well, they had something for everyone and MORE than enough, so I just got a spoon of this and that so I could sample a little of what I had selected. When I sat down people started commenting about how little I had on my plate. I thought, how am I going to explain this. One comment came that after doing all that singing I should have worked up a better appetite than that......LOL I did, I just can't eat that much. I finally broke down and told them I had an egg sized stomach, they all said BUMMER with all this food. It was a bummer in a way, but I knew I had made the right choice. I ate mostly soft foods and I got a piece of ham and it was great. I had just a little room left so I decided to splurge a bit so I got one very small spoonful of sweet potato caserole........that was always my favorite and I'd rather have that than any chocolate cake anyday, so I took one itsy bitsy bit thinking I might die or something......everyone was watching me eat by then. I took one more bite and said that satisfied my craving and I stopped. I didn't dumb over that which was a miracle. I did really well with all that food before me....proud of me. Soooooooo, what was everyone elses funny restaurant story?????? H.
