Hi, Mike.

Yes, I have rosacea, and being part French, Chinese and a wee bit of Native

in me, I end up looking Spanish-y sort of. And I have been blessed with

cea as well. I also shake my head when I look at some of the

predisposing factors, including fair hair and very " white " backgrounds, but

I do indeed have it. And, no one else in my family seems to have it either.

So there you go. It's possible. By the way, I was also misdiagnosed for

years with adult acne, which led to very irritating treatments and

exacerbation of symptoms, so make sure you don't go that route!

Subject: SURVEY questions...

Date: Sun, 07 May 2000 01:33:51 -0000

Im still debating as to whether my facial flushing was all from my

anxiety disorders and imblances in neurotranmitters and stress

hormones and all, and/or do i have minor rosacea as well... no dr.

really said i have rosacea for sure.

I have jet black hair, dark brwn eyes, fair facial skin but medium

tan

on body, no irish in my family, and no one in my family has rosacea

either!!!!!

does anyone else have rosacea who doesnt have irish in the family??

who has type 3 skin, and dark features like me?? like italina

looking... and with no genetic predisposition??

I might just have very sensitive skin as to why I feel burning to

some

alcohols and flare to some oils and products, everyone with fragile

skin has those symptoms... and maybe dry skin and seboorheic

dermaitits fighting a peaceful co existence, but my parents and

myself

are NOT convinced I even have it, if I do how do I know for sure?

thanks for the survey help

Mike

I'm with you two but have been a lifelong blusher and have family

with it. There is quite a mixture of people in my family who are very

fair and dark with it. I was blond as a child with fair skin.

I've noticed in Dr. Nase's picture that he has light/medium olive

skin and dark hair. I'm not sure what his ethnicity is, but he

doesn't look like he has the fair, thin skin that is considered

typical.

I am totally out the stereotypical bracket, which is why I believe my

last derm never believed I had cea.

I'm of African descent. Both my grandmothers were mixed races, but I

am as Irish as the Cinco de Mayo festival.

I wish they'd just do away with white/irish/celtic stereotype. People

of all complexions and races get cea.

25 % Irish, 50% Scicillian, 25% Italian other than Scicillian, so that's 75

% Italian total.

I am a freckled redhead with very rosy pink red skin, (even before this!)
