You could try it, but I don't know for sure if it will work. In red beans

and rice the flavoring from the sausage is imparted to the beans and rice.

With the tofu sausage recipe the flavorings are to be soaked up by the tofu.

They really aren't released. You might want to flaveor the beans and rice

separately.
