Guest guest
Hey Tia. Sorry about your husband. It's great that the doctor recommended SBD. Gastric bypass is pretty extreme and not without its dangers. See how he does on SB first. We have several members who are Type 2 diabetics. I'm sure they will have all kids of advise for food choices. Where in Virginia are you and where in land were you from? I am a transplant from Michigan but I've been living in land for 19 years and I love it too. June -- Heat attack...now SBD My husband suffered a VERY MILD heart attack this past week. He came home today...the cardiologist recommended the SBD versus Atkins....we were on Atkins before and lost a good bit of weight but gained it back and them some when we suffered some personal tragedies in our life. I really wanted to know....I am type 2 diabetic can I do this diet because some of the allowed foods in the book can and will spike my sugar pretty high..... I know my husband needs to do something and we are looking into gastric bypass but for right now he needs to do something food wise to be a little healthier while we look into other options TIA in Virginia but missing land :)Reminder: The South Beach Diet is not low-carb. Nor is it low-fat. The South Beach Diet teaches you to rely on the right carbs and the right fats-the good ones - and enables you to live quite happily without the bad carbs and bad fats.
