Guest guest
, I have been a bit behind in reading the posts, but I wanted to give you a few thoughts on a phone consult. First, call the doc you want to have the consult with and ask his nurse/asistant to give you the details of this process. Since, I was only a memeber of this group for about 6-8 weeks and did not even realize that doctors would talk with you over the phone giving you their thoughts & opinions on your situation, especially when they weren't previously YOUR doctor. Anyway, call & find out if he/she does phone consults. Then, set an appointment for one because it will ususally be a few weeks out. Next, get your medical file & all informative records, blood tests, etc. mailed or FEDEXED to the doc immediately. Insurance usually will not cover phone consults, so you will need to ask the assistant on how this doc takes payment. Dr. Palter takes MC & VISA, so I had to pay upfront, but it was the best money I could have spent knowing that I will get help and knowing that I am in GREAT HANDS! Finally, get your list of questions & topics for discussions prepared in advance. You will be able to get the most for your money if you have an agenda of topics & questions to ask. My DH & I both got on the phone & talked for about an hour during out 1st consult. Good luck. It is definitely worth getting an A list doc to give you his/her thoughts on your case. So many people from this group have been told over & over that they would never have children, they needed to move on, etc. yet, they went on to see A List specialists and today are walking around pregnant. Take care......... W
