Guest guest
I have recently joined the PSC support group. My name is , I live on the West Coast of Canada. I am 36, a husband and a father of 3. I was diagnosed with PSC about 11 months ago. It has been a bit of a roller coaster ride since. My Gastroentronolgist did not give me ANY info about PSC and in fact played it down, as he was giving me and my wife info about my newly diagnosed Ulcerative colitis. It wasn't until I did some digging, did I get the low down on PSC. It was quite devastating to find out it about while reading about it on the internet. I have spent the past 10 months reading whatever I can get my hands on about the disease, always hoping to come across an article about a miracle cure. I have not come across that article yet. I have a new Gastro specialist now, who had me in for an MRI to see exactly what is going on inside of me. So far, I think that I am asymptomatic. That being said, my shins have been extremely itchy in the past and I would scratch to the point where they would bleed. My new doctor has me on Urso. Being an open minded person, I have been looking into alternative medicines to work along with modern medicine. I have started seeing a Naturopath. The fellow I am seeing is fairly optimistic about my situation. He claims to have " cured " many different diseases, including a case of PSC. He has written 3 books and is seen by many different famous people. He works in North Vancouver, Canada. He has people fly in from all over the world to see him. In two of his books, he goes through his theories and also includes letters from patients. His second book has the letter from the fellow who had PSC. I have been seeing this doctor for about 3 months. I have dropped some weight and I am feeling very good. I haven't seen how my blood work results have been effected yet, because I have only had one completed since seeing the doctor. I am going to " ride this horse " as long as I can. At the very least, I am feeling pretty good. I have promised myself that if I am able to positively impact this disease by following this program that I will do everything that I can to spread the word! The doctor's theory is that the body can heal itself, we just need to know how to not put so much stress on it by constantly eating improperly. I am only a few supplements and I have changed my diet. When you start to analyse his theory, it makes pretty good sense. The itching on my shin has subsided and it looks the best it has in 2 years. I will keep eveyone up to speed on my progress and findings. Has anyone else tried and had good results with the naturopath community?
