I really like the Progresso Cr of Mush. I find it at a bigger

Signature Kroger...usually for $1.50. I haven't had any

problems

converting the few recipes I've tried. I just leave out some

liquid from somewhere else. It's not as thick and solid as

s, but I think it's thicker than Imagine. I wasn't

impressed with Imagine. Probably my " white bread " mentality.

: ) We eat the Progresso Chicken Enchilada soup too.

Originally

bought a couple of cans for some recipe I was gonna make and we

ended up eating them as soup!! Ahem...that was SEVERAL cans

ago.

it's nothing similar to a condensed cream of mushroom soup that

going to ask next time I am in the grocery store if they can get

some

in for me. I would even take a whole case if it is good.

Otherwise I

am going to try to make my own. :(

Oh man...I'll have to dig. It was a huge amount of food as

I remember and kind of like a King Ranch Chicken recipe....with

shredded chicken, corn tortillas torn up and layered, the soup

and lots and lots of cheese....I'll have to scrounge. I really

don't remember what list it came from. It might just be in the

Silly Yaks archives!! Going back to October...since we went gf

10/1. It was shortly after that!

That's funny. We did that with the creamed corn soup. We were so excited, but

it also went down the drain. I haven't tried any of the others.

I was also disappointed, unfortunately I was so excited to have found a GF cream of mushroom soup that I bought several. The second time I tried it (after thickening it somewhat) was as disappointing as the first. ;(

Re: Cream of mushroom soup

The only Imagine soup I really like so far is the broccoli- I add pine nuts, tamari (san-j) and pepper and it's pretty good. Their lobster bisque was completely revolting- i have the crab bisque in my cupboard but haven't wanted to try it after the lobster fiasco. :( DH and I looked at each other sadly and poured it down the drain. Tasted like beta carotene drops to me- how wierd is that. I will try their potato leek though, didn't like the tomato.

It is a bit waterier, which didn't bother me, but it tastes very different, and it is dark brown, which made the whole dish dark brown and wasn't appetizing to my dc. The second time I used it I added some seasonings and chicken boullion cubes and it tasted better to us. I actually prefered their Potato Leek soup in casseroles. Yum.
