Hi Lea, I'm currently taking 15 mg of armour but I don't think it's

enough. I don't feel any better.

Lynn, it sounds like you are Hyperthyroid, because the symptoms are just like you have described. I was Hyper, and then after the implants, I became Hypo; however, some women lose a lot of weight when they become sick from their implants. I lost so much weight, that I looked skeletal...just like our grandma. I cannot find her picture, but I will have another look.

Could someone please help me find grandma, with her implants.

Sending love to you too........Lea

Re: Rapid Heartbeat

Lea,You have to be careful with too much synthroid (or armour) too. It can cause heart issues. I am glad your doctor noticed. I am thinking my dose is too high too. I have rapid heart beats, can't sleep well and I have lost more weight without even trying. I am figgity too. I just had a thyroid panel run last week, I am wondering if he will take me down to .050 mcg? Big hugs Lea! Love you, Lynn> > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >> > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Steph ~> > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Yes, and lots of things can cause > it.> > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Do you know how many heartbeats> > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > per minute it was beating? Honey, we tried the Armour, but it did not work for me. My doctor put me back on Synthroid, and things got so much better. He lowered my dose yesterday, because it was too high. I am taking 0.15mg starting today, and it is very important that you take it on an empty stomach with a full glass of water. I take mine every morning at 3 AM. My doctor told me that we have to keep trying until we find the correct dose.

Take care sweetie....love you too....Lea

Steph,

Your antibodies are normal, this is a good thing. I guess the doc

might have you on armour due to the TSH? I am not sure if you want

to go too high on the armour because it can had adverse side

effects. When did you start armour?

I am happy your ANA was negative. I only wish mine was. I do not

have puffy eyelids or fevers but I do have joint pains. I would be

so happy to have a TPO of 11, I pray one day mine is anywhere near 30!

How long on the armour? If you haven't been on it long, please

remember that it takes a while to get in your system, at least a

month or so. It is not immediate. I realize it is very frustrating

because I have been there. I never thought my thyroid pain would go

away but it did. You could always ask your doctor to test your TSH

again to see if you are on an adequate dose. If you go too high with

out supervision, you might regret it. From what I have read,

hyperthyroidism is much worse than hypo - so please be careful.

Love, Lynn

I've been on the armour for about a month now. He said my thyroid is

a little on the low side. I have another appt with him in March and

he already gave me the lab slips to get retested before my appt.

As far as the ANA, the dr showed me the test and it said negative so

I guess that means I don't have any at all?

I'm hoping that by taking the armour it'll lower my TSH and I'll feel

better. Hopefully one day this will be over for all of us.

Love Steph

A negative ANA means you aren't testing for a significant number autoimmune antibodies . . . If that number was high, it would indicate you have an autoimmune problem, but it wouldn't determine what the problem was.

Someone said that they thought 1:140 was high . . . That's not very high . . . There are numbers much, much higher than that! . . . I wouldn't worry about 1:140 . . . If implants are out and you're getting your diet in order and detoxing, that should be considered a good milestone.

Lea,

Armour does not work for those with untreated adrenal exhaustion.

Synthroid will work better for them instead, but it would be better

to get the adrenals treated!!! Once the adrenals are working better,

you can tolerate armour better!

Finding the right dose takes some effort, but once you are there, you

will know.

Lynn,

Women on the Stopthethyroidmadness.com site have been on way more

thyroid meds than you or I and they are not having hyperthyroidism

symptoms. If you read the typical blather put out by the medical

field on thyroid meds, you will be scared to death to take too much.

They always put a spin on it that sounds like you will die.

But the truth is, many people have been on huge amounts of thyroid

meds with no trouble. Dr. Gerson put his patients on large amounts

of Armour during cancer treatment, and they not only survived, they

thrived! So, it's not the big boogeyman that it's been made out to be.

But, I do want to say that I think the problem may be more related to

untreated adrenal issues. It blows my mind how ignorant most medical

doctors are about connecting the adrenals with the thyroid. I never,

not once, was tested for adrenal function before either the

homeopathic doctor or endocrinologist prescribed both cytomel and

armour for me.

Patty, my doctors will not even listen when I mention the adrenals. They know that is out of their field, and they should send me to someone who specializes in these issues. Why do you think that Armour is a better medication?

Honey, thank you for helping us with our thyroid issues.

Sending love to you.......Lea

Have you had your thyroid checked? I know the LDN sites says that people with hashimotos that take thyroid hormones and take LDN can decrease their need for thyroid meds. Being hypothyroid can cause rapid heart rate and palipitations. This may or may not be your issue but I would see an MD to get to the bottom of it. Some people also (like me) have premature ventricular contractions, which are harmless I was told. I have a holter monitor and a cardiac stress echo done to rule out more serious issues.  LizFrom: penseur4444 <penseur4444@...>low dose naltrexone Sent: Monday, November 3, 2008 8:08:56 AMSubject: [low dose naltrexone] Rapid Heartbeat

Hi,

I'm two weeks into taking 1.5 mg of LDN and all of a sudden, I've

developed a rapid heartbeat/slight palpitation. I see that people

have mentioned this on this site before, but I wasn't sure what the

consensus is on this symptom in terms of whether or not it should be

transient. Should I take this as a sign that the LDN is no good for

me? Or, rather, should I take this to mean that the LDN is somehow

kicking in and working. I guess it stands to reason that an increase

in endorphins could also increase heart rate, but, unfortunately this

doesn't seem to be accompanied by an increase in energy. If anything,

it feels like it's wearing me out more. If anyone has any ideas about

this, I would be very grateful to hear them.

Thanks so much,

Liz

Increased symptoms upon starting LDN is not uncommon, the increased

heartrate is unusual. You should get checked out by your doctor.

I know I have adrenal fatigue based on test of cortisol, pregnenolone

and dhea levels. I supplement with hydrocortisone, pregnenolone and

Cortisol Control. What would be the connection between adrenal

fatigue and taking LDN?

Thanks so much,

Dear Liz,

I will look to see what I have listed under heart palpitations or racing and forward the posts to you.

Hang in there

Excellent observation Liz,

In going through all of the posts regarding heart palpitations or racing, I noticed a number of people had thyroid issues. I am not certain how many were on thyroid meds at the time, but that may well be what is happening.

All my best, Aletha

the connection between adrenal fatigue and ldn is that people with

adrenal fatigue are very sensetive for every change.it is good that

you treat the adrenal fatigue and it is good that you use ldn.your

body has to get used to the ldn.one possibiltiy is to make your

fluid ldn and to start lower then 1.5 mg until the body is used to

it and then to raise it slowly.

Hi Liz

It may not be the LDN many things can cause your symptoms.

Even eating chocolate in some people can cause rapid heartbeats.

Also after eating chocolate (or other foods that can cause the same)

you may not pick up its the food because the increase in heartbeats

may not start for 3 or 4 hours and even longer.

If you continue to eat foods that are causing it then the rapid beats

will stay.

1 way to test this is stop the LDN but keep eating what you are, if

the rapid beats stop wait a day or 2 then start the LDN again.

Keep a log of what you eat.
