Krista - can't wait to see your new hair!!!! I cut all of mine off several months ago and got bangs for the first time in my life!!!! I like it but I am still trying to get used to the bangs!!!!!

Hopefully you will noticed your hair getting thicker and you can grow it out again if that is what you want to do. I know I LOVE my shorter hair - less styling and time. Can't wait to see it and see if it helps. I have noticed that my hair does not seem to be falling out as much anymore. Some days are better than others but it gives me hope that one day it will stop falling out and be back to normal!!!!

Much Love,

Beth

Re: Rapid Heartbeat

Hey CLynn- Haven't you from you in awhile. How are you feeling? I wasgoing to send you a message through myspace last night, but I forgot!I hope you are feeling better.I just wanted to tell you (and Steph too) that I have decided to cutmy hair. It's not an easy decision by any means, but I am actuallyexcited about it! I've lost so much hair with all of this and Ialready had thin hair to begin with. I'm losing less then I was withimplants, but I think I am still losing because it is just too longright now. I've decided to cut it off and "start over." I'm hoping Ihave regrowth, and by cutting it my re-growth can catch up!I will post pics on my myspace so you guys can see my new cut! I amdoing it on Feb.2nd.Love you,Krista> > > > > > > > > > > >

,

Right when I got sick in Dec of 06 I noticed the most hair loss but

once I got on thyroid meds it helped. Now I am back to losing quite

a bit. No bald spots yet but I am still not happy about the handful

I lose each morning. I am going to cut it shorter and see if that

helps. My hair is getting long and tangles easy, so I pull out a lot

trying to untangle it each morning.

Are you losing hait too?

I have extremely thick hair and have always shed really bad a couple

times a year, i know i sound like a dog :), but i thought maybe

thats what may be going on with you. I have oticed that since i got

my implants it si more of a common thing rather then a seasonal

thing but it does not seem to be any worse as far as the amount that

comes out. Cutting you hair will definetly make it look thicker and

fuller. I worked in a salon for years and most of the women that

had very thin or fine hair loved the " bob " cuts because it made

their hair look so nice. Is the hair loss moe of a shedding thing or

a coming out in clumps thing? There are soooo many different things

that can contribute to hair loss its unreal.

It's definitely not fun! Do you know what your thyroid antibodies

were? Mine came back 11 and I joined a thyroid forum. One of the

moderators said that we shouldn't have any thyroid antiboides in our

bodies so she seems to think even an 11 is bad.

It's definitely not fun! Do you know what your thyroid antibodies

were? Mine came back 11 and I joined a thyroid forum. One of the

moderators said that we shouldn't have any thyroid antiboides in our

bodies so she seems to think even an 11 is bad.

I need to get it retested but I assume it has because my thyroiditis

is gone. That was so painful, could barely touch a sheet to my

neck. I'll ask my doctor to retest just for curiousity sake.

Lynn that's great to hear it's gone. Did it go away from taking the

synthroid? My dr only started me off at 15 mg of armour which I think

won't be enough.

Dearest Lynn and Steph:

My doctor told me that I was on too much Synthroid, and that is what caused by heart to race. He cut the dose to 0.15mg and it was 0.175mg, today I started the lower dose. I was losing weight on the higher dose...we think.

Take care dear ones...love you both......Lea

Steph, I do need to get the TPO tested again but all of my other

numbers are now normal. My TSH was almost 4 and now it is 1.09 or

something like that. But the pain and thyroiditis is gone, so I am

assuming the TPO is probably lower because the pain is gone. There

were times when I felt like a pill was stuck in my throat, I could

not wear high collared shirts or necklaces either... I had

Hashimotos.

I tried Armour too but it didn't work for me. It was too much,

caused rapid heart beats. But, I think my adrenals are poor and so

armour is not a good drug until I can get them up and going too.

The depression did subside once I got my TSH down. Now that I cut my

hair, I can't tell if I am losing hair or not, it is wonderful :)

Love, Lynn

Hi Lynn, What type of pain did you have and how long did it take

before you noticed a difference? I hoping once I've been on it for a

while my symptoms will improve too. How much do you take per day?

Steph,

I have so many joint and muscles pains which I still have on and

off. But Thyroid only.... I had tenderness on neck where my thyroid

is. I could not touch my thyroid without pain. I could not touch a

sheet to it at night, it was that sore. I could not wear a necklace

because it caused pain, no clothes could touch my thyroid. It felt

like a constant pulsing and throbbing sensation. When I swallowed it

felt like I had a pill stuck in my throat.

Synthroid and I think armour takes awhile to get in your system. I

believe it took about 4 to 6 weeks before the thyroid pain was gone!

I can now wear necklaces, wear sheets at night, turtlenecks, etc. NO

more throbbing pains. So patience is the key with this. It hurt

like hell though. I took naprosyn and it seemed to reduce the

inflammation when it got too bad to bear.

I was depressed too, never had been in my life. I went to see a

psychiatrist and when he found out my TSH was almost 4.0 he said that

is what was causing my depression. He said it must be below 2.0!!

Now that it is 1.09, no depression whatsoever. I get sad because of

the illness but that is just self pity and not really depression.

Your TPO did not seem to high, you said 11 right? Mine was 350 -

normal is 0-34. My Triiodothyronine, Free, Serum was 3.3 and normal

is 2.3-4.2. So, I am not sure what your 11 was? Was it TPO (thyroid

peroxidase) Ab or Triiodothyronine, Free, Serum?

Sorry you aren't feeling well. It does take awhile for the armour to

kick in and waiting can seem like forever!!

Love, Lynn

Hi Lynn, My thyroid antibodies were 11. That's TPO right? Did the

synthroid help with your aches and pains. I heard that can be a

symptom of hypothyroidism. How much synthroid to you take per day?

I'm only on 15 mg of armour but I don't think that's enough.

Steph,

that is a blessing not to be ANA positive. Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Keep looking at the positives. You said you have been on Armour for 1 month. I get to see the doctor on Tuesday. How long does it take to get the thyroid right?

Steph,

I am not sure if TPO and thyroid antibodies are the same, I am

assuming yes. I would be thrilled with an 11 TPO!! That is normal.

The TPO scale for normal is 0-34. Do you have a copy of your labs?

I keep a file of copies of all my labs so I can document progress and

what the normal ranges are. I would find out where the 11 falls in

the range if I were you.

I am on .075 mcg of synthroid. It is hard to compare armour to

synthroid though. You do not want too much armour because it can

cause hyperthyroidism and that is not fun at all!! It can cause some

serious issues (heart, etc).

You should find out what the normal range of thyroid antibodies is.

Ask for a copy of your lab work, they have to give it to you. Start

a file. If you are in the normal ranges, I am not sure why you are

on armour at all?

You might want to chat with Patty about this. Patty takes armour.

I wish I could be of more help. The synthroid helped with some of my

aches and pains but not all. I no longer feel like I am 90, but I

still ache. It could be fibromyalgia/CFS though. I also have auto-

immune issues too. My ANA is 1:160! Which is high high high. My

thryoid issues are just one small part of a big implant illness

puzzle in my body. Those implants caused havoc on my entire body.

What type of issues are you having? How long have you been explanted

now? Did you have your implants removed En Bloc?

Hugs, Lynn

Lea,

You have to be careful with too much synthroid (or armour) too. It

can cause heart issues. I am glad your doctor noticed. I am thinking

my dose is too high too. I have rapid heart beats, can't sleep well

and I have lost more weight without even trying. I am figgity too.

I just had a thyroid panel run last week, I am wondering if he will

take me down to .050 mcg?

Big hugs Lea! Love you, Lynn

Hi Lynn, I do have my blood work results. I checked and the thyroid

anti body range is 0-32. I was explanted on Nov 8 of last year with a

total capsulectomy.

I have some hair loss, hypothyroidism, eyelid swelling, and some

occasional aches. I've been sick with a slight fever and a sore

throat for the past couple of days which I think is due to a sinus

infection. I noticed that today my face looks flushed. Has that ever

happened to you?

Along with the hormone test my dr also tested me for the ANA antibody

test and it came back negative, which I guess means that I don't have

lupus. My TSH is 2.14 which should be lower. I wanted to get all of

the testing done at once. I'm so sick of it.

Steph
