I tried this on my first round. It did not work for me. The DMSA

doesn't mix evenly, even if you shake it up, so you get uneven

doses. If you don't shake it at all you can get *very* uneven doses.

It is much safer and more consistent IMO to divide the powder

into piles and put into empty gel caps. Twenty piles will be

pretty cumbersome. I suggest getting 25 mg caps from vrp.com.

Use caution if you continue this. Getting uneven doses can

cause major redistribution symptoms.

Hi, im a new girl here, i may have posted once or twice but am

always reading posts here.

I am interested in the DMSA in bead form. I halve 25mg capsules with

each dose and have been taking it with water.

I found it really difficult to put the DMSA in the capsule, the

powder was falling everywhere so i thought the doses would be uneven.

The bead form would be easier, could you tell me where to get it

please.

TK--- as others have pointed out this is an ineffective way to

measure dosage and can cause redistribution causing the back or

kidney pain and other psychological side effects. You may want to

stop the round and start again after side effects settle down using

the dmsa in a capsule so you make sure you are getting a consistent

dosage.

The bead form is very easy to work with. When I open up the 100 mg.

capsules, they're full of teeny, discrete, white beads than can be

individually manipulated. The DMSA I use has the brand name of CHEMET.

It's also known as succimer. I get it through Medco Health, which is a

mail-order pharmacy available to me through my an employer's prescription

benefit plan. In their formulary of available pharmaceuticals, Medco lists

it as Chemet, not DMSA, although it is DMSA. I requested my doctor to

write my prescription for Chemet, because I knew that was the name Medco

recognized. I had searched for DMSA on their formulary and it didn't come

up as being stocked, but Chemet was listed as being stocked.

So not all DMSA is like this? I had some ALA capsules once that I was

trying to divide up. The contents were powder, and it was rather

frustrating trying to divide it up evenly. I understand your frustration on

working with powder. I eventually found ALA tablets I could cut with my

pill splitter.
