Wow, did I sound whiny last night--sorry! I really appreciate

everyone's replies--we had some nice news today because all of a

sudden his tort is looking so much better. I guess after 3 weeks,

he is adjusting more to the band and letting that shoulder drop away

from his ear. I know we will continue to have one step forward, two

steps back with the tort, but it was nice to see the PT so positive

and happy today. (Both PT and we feel like the band was critical for

us to see some real progress with the tort.)

And, yes, my rational brain definitely knew that brachy was harder

to treat, but he is young (4.5 mos at banding chrono, but born 6

weeks premature). I think we set ourselves up to expect more and

more quickly because is young. (He is a square head--100% CR, but

we didn't measure facial asymmetry.)

I think that some of our discouragement is that we are so totally

opposed to getting a second band and so we are really looking for

some good improvement from this one.

In case I am freaking out any parents that are considering banding,

I will repeat that even with slow progress we are very happy to see

that his head is not getting worse. Pre-banding, it literally got

flatter every day right before our eyes. This process can just seem

a little agonizing at times.
