Guest guest
Dear Group, I can't remember if this topic has been discussed before but can asacol, or urso cause thinning hair? My son who takes both says his hair is just falling out. He's been taking these meds for almost 7 years and never had a problem before. I sure hope it's just shampoo, or the water where he lives. He just recently moved. Thanks for any help you can give me. Terry
Guest guest
Hi guys. I have just logged on after a brief 'holiday' from the PC and am amazed to see this topic. I was diagnosed in Feb this year, and have been taking urso since March and have found I have lost a lot of hair in recent weeks. I had never considered urso to be the cause - just thought it could be stress related. I will definately check it out with my Dr at my next appt on Tuesday. I will let you all know what she says. Guest guest
What worked for you? What is the name of the product you used? I tried ordering the Worthington product but it's in England and they won't ship to the U.S. What is something I can purchase here for my son? Thanks for any help. Terry Well it worked for me and you could see my scalp as well. I got to the point where I didn't want to go out because you could see it so badly and everyone said about it. But now people even say to me gosh your hair is thicking back up. I haven't had my urso reduced either dr chapman has just put it up again and so far my hair isn't getting thinner it still looks thick. I will let you all know if it stays this way.So get your son to try it you never know it could work for him too.
Guest guest
Can it be a vitamin A problem? Too much of it causes hair loss. Is he taking vitamin supplements? -----Original Message-----From: [mailto: ]On Behalf Of nnyd22Sent: Sunday, November 19, 2006 9:30 AMTo: Subject: Re: Thinning hair Hi all,I posted a message last week about my sixteen year old son, whose hair is considerably thinner, you can see his scalp quite clearly now.... His Doc decided that we would try reducing his meds, (URSO). But this week his Liver Function test was alot worse, GGT ALT and AST all were abnormal before but they Doubled in a week!!!I don't think that any shampoo is going to make a difference to his problem. Its very sad.Penny Mum of UC 11/04, PSC 2/06. Guest guest
Hi sorry about that. Try any thicking shampoo. What it does is make the hair folicals {sorry can't spell} expand and there for makes your hair look thicker. You don't need to go for the one that costs the most either. Do you have boots over there as that was the first one I had that helped?

Guest guest
-Joy listed Worthington as the product that helped her. I live in KY and can easily purchase it at our local Walgreens. I have looked around a bit but haven't found it in any other stores, I think it costs about 5.99 which makes it worth a try. Hope that helps. mom to Caity(15) AIH/PSC overlap Sponsored LinkMortgage rates near 39yr lows. $420,000 Mortgage for $1,399/mo - Calculate new house payment
