Guest guest
I feel like I have found a place to go now that I have found this group. I can totally relate about the pain & fatigue. I love scrapbooking. I want to get my books done. I don't even have the energy to do them as much as I like. So if I have no energy to do something that is not strenuous, then how can I get out and exercise. I think many people think it is only and excuse to be lazy. My hubby is having a hard time understanding I would love to go for bike rides and walks with him. He is so physical though. He has a hard time going slow enough. He works in heavy construction all day. His job is very physical. It is hard for him to understand how I feel. I am glad all of you are here:-) Liz Scrap in a Snap Consultant #10811 siasliz@... Proud to be an AMERICAN!!!! Exercise w/Pain & Fatigue > What gets me is, I'm not saying " but I hurt too much to exercise " , I'm > saying " I'm so fatigued, I just can't exercise. Sometimes I literally > can't turn my head on my pillow " (which by the way, he totally dismissed > when I told him that). They act like I've said " I prefer to sit on my > butt and watch soap operas and eat bon bons. " I *want* to exercise, for > months now, I couldn't do hardly anything, let alone exercise. Now that > the fatigue has lifted a little, I want to take things extra slow so > that I *don't* slide back and go back where I came from. Somehow this > gets translated as " I'm lazy " . They aren't listening, they are > assuming! > Darcy > I think that the fatigue and the pain in my feet are just about equally bad. The fatigue is starting to lift since I began thyroid meds a couple of weeks ago--after literally begging for them! But, I know all about the fatigue and I am also afraid that if I try to do too much that I will end up back in bed and unable to function. So, I am trying to stretch and I am going to ride my exercise bike for 20 minutes at a very moderate pace today. I am going to just take it easy--but because I haven't exercised in so long, I am very weak. :-( I didn't realize how weak I actually was until that doctor tested my muscle strength the other day. I couldn't resist him hardly at all with my arms. The thing that I try to remember is to listen to my body. I don't always do it and then I pay for it. WHen I was still trying to work, I had absolutely no energy to do my rubber stamping. When I first started staying home, I had no energy to do it either. I'm finally just starting to get a tiny bit of stamping done. I'm also finally starting to find a little bit of energy to do things like unload the dishwasher, but I'm not up to full scale cleaning. I'm definitely not up to 5 laps around the block either. I want to start very slowly with a tiny bit of stretching before I even start to think of walking on any kind of large scale. I want to gradually work up, not plunge into things. Darcy

Guest guest
Darcy, That sounds super. You can make your own tote bags and tee shirts. I am sorry to say that I have no talent like that or any other for that manner except cooking chili at cookoffs and that is not talent but blind luck. This does give you something to keep you occupied when you are not quite up to snuff and when you are feeling better. Take care, Irene << Mostly cards, but I have made mini books, etched glass candle holders, wooden boxes (wood burned after being stamped), tee-shirts, tote bags, boxes, ceramic tiles, and probably a host of other things that I can't think of right now. >>

Cooking is indeed a talent and the fact you've done so well at your chili cook offs suggests you have a very good one. I'm sure you could rubber stamp. All you have to do is put ink on the stamp, and put it down. It's art so there is no right or wrong way to do it. It's whatever you like.
