Guest guest
Cherwyn, The dangers of IV chelation have been discussed many times on this group. Doctors doing IV chelation claim it's helpful, but when a patient has ill effects they never accept that the chelation is to blame. See www.dmpsbackfires.com for horror stories. The high doses of chelators used with IV chelation makes the body dump a lot of toxins at once, but the body can't excrete that much at one time, so the toxins just get redistributed to other places in the body, causing harmful and sometimes permanent effects. If your urine was taken after being given an IV chelating agent, all the test tells you is what you had in your kidneys. It is an invalid indicator of your whole body burden. A better test is a DDI hair analysis, interpreted using Andy's counting rules. DMPS, DMSA, and ALA are the only chelators that Andy Cutler believes are effective for mercury. Some docs claim EDTA will chelate mercury; Andy doesn't believe it helps with mercury and it may even make mercury toxicity worse. Andy Cutler's frequent dose method of chelation is effective and safe, and involves low doses, usually somewhere between 5 to 100 mg., taken round the clock in rounds. It never involves IV chelation. I think there is also more info in the links section. TK and Moria have previously posted many links that discuss all this. It's definitely in the archived posts. Good to see you here and looking at the underlying causes of your hypo. Lynn M. > Hi, > Forgive me if this has already been discussed in this group. My daughter and I need to chelate (lead, mercury, cadmium, and nickel, acc. to a urine test). Our doctor does IV chelation (I don't know what the chelating agent is) and claims it has been very effective for many patients. My daughter and I are hypothyroid and hope that chelation may heal us. > > Does anyone have an opinion or experience with IV chelation, and is Andy Cutler's method more effective/safe? YES > If IV chealtion can be effective & safe, ANdy says IV's of this nature are NOT safe. I have had a lot of IV EDTA before I knew this. The earlier ones didn't SEEM to bother me, but the ones they gave m when I got sick again, yers down the road, just about took me off the planet > are there different IV chelating agents, YES > and are some preferable to others? Don't do any of them ~Inga

Guest guest
TK--- Please read through the information on the protocol and other acsociated info in the links section starting with - http://home.earthlink.net/~moriam/ This way you can make an educated decision. Also make sure you read through the DMPS backfire Link. > > Hi, > Forgive me if this has already been discussed in this group. Guest guest
Thanks for your replies about IV chelation. It doesn't sound like something I want to do. I will do the frequent-dose chelation. Now I'm upset that my daughter and I took the 500mg DMSA for the provocation urine test. I appreciate your help. Cherwyn
