How

did they find out was a

LD? I thought all they ever ask is;

have you been seen by a doctor in the last 6 months….have you been diagnosed

with _ _ _. We haven’t hunted

for insurance in a LOT of

years, have things changed that much?

Can’t believe

the life insurance thing either, how stupid – if anything donors are ohhh

sooo much more aware of the value of good health.

I am appalled.

Could we make it any more difficult for anyone to do what is “right”

for someone they love? I am just totally beside myself and damn near tears on

this one. So, what ARE people supposed to do? How does this translate to the working

world? Could we make the list any longer of things to mention to people who

might want to donate? Let’s scare the ever-loving crap out of them. God

Bless you Joanne.

I hope you

figure something out soon. Maybe it is just this one idiotic company.

You are in my

thoughts.

Joanne,I am so glad to hear that your family is having a great summer! Now the insurance issue is another matter.Let us know if we all need to write or call DC to help insurance reform happen.I know that this is something that I am worried about with Bill.Right now we have him on cobra for another year but that will go by fast and then what?Hang in there and keep us posted!LeeHi all,Well life has been so quiet and wonderful for the past couple of months that I went into lurk mode to take a break. But I thought it was important to let you all know about and his application for health insurance. For those of you that don't know my son, (22) was a living donor for my younger son Todd (20) 3 years ago. just graduated from college in May and needed to get personal health insurance since he is no longer covered on our family plans and has not found a job yet. Well we were all shocked when the letter came saying that he has been denied and the reason being was the living liver donor (we found that out after a phone call). Visit Your Group | Yahoo! Dear Joanne,

Sounds like you are doing well. Thanks for the heads up about the insurence. We are beginning the eval for Simon to be my living donor. I will be in Pittsburgh in August hopefully for my annual check up and tests and so will he for evaluation. If you've got any advice about the process please give it to me. What is Boig like? I am feeling a little overwhelmed about the whole thing. After the conference and ERCP I saw Dr. Fontes and he felt that I need to get on with a live donor asap. Hence why we are considering Simon. he has been determined all along to do but I have said NO but now I am having to reconsider. I think I am in the long, slow slide downhill and may not have any choice in the matter. But the good news is that I am feeling ok and still have energy. How is Todd doing? And how is the blood thing going?

Take care,

Ali
