The description of the surgery was great- it took the doctor 10 min to explain it and I was overwhelmed by how complex it was. The kicker was when I learned (from this group) that the surgery can make transplant harder, which this article states upfront. I've thanked my lucky stars many times since that the surgery proved impossible, and so far, unnecessary.
