Guest guest
I just read it. I dont think it is a good article. It is way to short and they should have a banded baby in the pic. They dont even have the words plagio or tort in it.

Guest guest
I just read it tonight. I was disappointed that the author stated that plagio is mainly a cosmetic issue. Otherwise, the article was OK. It is hard to write a great article while being limited to one page (the AAP column is always only 1 page). I think I am going to write a letter to the editor addressing the " cosmetic issue " comment since I think that is exactly the kind of rhetoric that the insurance industry is hanging their hats on. And for good measure I think I will throw in my professional credentials (pediatric nurse practitioner). (mom to Georgia, DDH/plagio, Starband grad 11/05) " Flat Spot " article in Baby Talk Magazine Feb. Issue Did anyone read the article in Baby Talk Magazine (Feb. Issue, page 20) titled, " Help, my baby's head is flat " written by the president of the American Academy of Pediatrics? If so, what did you think? Guest guest
That's exactly how I felt too . I was in tears when I read that " this is usually cosmetic " ..right, I chose to spend $6000 (that UHC did not pay a penny for) on 2 helmets because I thought didn't look perfect! Ugghh! And, did you notice the author did not mention the term Plagiocephaly or explain that this could also be caused by interuterine constriction (our case)? I know, they are limited, but I felt like it was just not enough info. (2nd Doc Band 12/05-present) Chicago suburb > > I just read it tonight. Guest guest
I read this a couple of days ago in the magazine. I was disappointed also about them stating it was cosmetic only. It was nice that an article was in the magazine though. I wish they would go more into about what happens if not resoolved though. So many people are in the dark about helments and such.
