Guest guest
I don’t know what everyone else’s are like, but Noah’s are caplets. He has not had trouble, but I think some people have more sensitive gag reflexes than others. He only has to take 2 at a time too, so the mind does not see the whole handful. He also had no trouble with the enormous fish oil tablets either…so maybe I just got lucky. Good luck…I would call the pharmacist and see if there is another way to deal with it. They usually come up with good suggestions on stuff like that. Guest guest
Dear Ellen, I also have (mental) problems with swallowing 'big' pills. Therefore I usually break the Urso pills in 4 and take them with milk (it says to take them with milk in the 'manual' of the pills I take, but I guess that is just to cover up the taste (I also use milk to take with the fish oil)). My tip for swallowing the pills if not broken down to small pieces would be to force oneself to relax the throat muscles while swallowing. Gerard > > Dear all, > > Any tips on downing those urso pills? My husband takes eight of them a day and let's just say I don't need to see him to know he's taking them. Yesterday he almost choked. Any suggestions on making it easier would be much appreciated. Too bad we can't use them as bouillon cubes or something.... > > Ellen > > > (wife of PSC 2002, cholecystectomy 2006) > > > > --------------------------------- > Talk is cheap. Use Yahoo! Guest guest
I too take the red and white generic 300mg ursodiol capsules. Others take the Urso brand 250mg tablets or the Urso Forte 500mg tablets sold by Axcan Pharma - a sponsor of the Pittsburgh PSC conference.
