Hi,

FWIW, I just finished my 44th round in just under a year. I can do 80

mg of DMSA and 45 mg of ALA every 2.5 hours during the day, 3 hours at

night. I have done rounds as high as 100 mg of DMSA with no big deal,

but I've been scaling that back a bit since upping the ALA. I'm 228 lbs.

I succumbed to curiosity and did my first urine elements test on the

last day of my latest round. I don't have any results yet, but as far

as I can tell, I don't have much lead. Just 1/2 way across the green

on my hair tests.

My daughter (9 yo) seems to have quite a bit of lead. Hers is 1/2 way

across the yellow on her hair tests. Her lead has held steady there

over the 6 months I tested while doing 30 rounds of DMSA and ALA, but

her mercury has gone from a little spot on the left side of the green

to about a 1/3 of the way into the yellow. (I did hair tests on her

about every 2 months to monitor her copper levels.) So, at least in

her case, the presence of lead does not seem to have kept her from

excreting mercury, in her hair at least. I've never done any urine

testing on her.

Hi ,

Thanks for the feedback. Just out of curiosity, did you have a lot

of symptoms to begin (with either chelator), or not? Are you low

plasma cysteine? I have the impression that low plasma cysteine

people are more likely (but not guaranteed) to tolerate higher doses.

Or is that just a factoid I have picked up?

It will be interesting to see.

I had an all low hair test, with only uranium elevated in the toxics.

Lead was about 1/3 into green, but I think there is more where that

came from. My mercury was like your daughter's (little spot).

That's all interesting. Your daughter's hair tests sound pretty

helpful. I'm eager to see if my recent one tells me anything.

I had more symptoms beginning with DMSA (at 25 mg every 4 hours).

They included leg and foot cramps (needed more minerals), urge to

grind my teeth (needed more zinc), sharp brief headaches, blurriness

of vision, joint and muscle aches, fatigue and mild peripheral

neuropathy. I was very functional though.

With ALA (33mg every 3 hours), I felt great although it caused more

vision blurrines. (As a side note it is interesting to see that I

haven't really increased my ALA dose much in a year. I've been too

worried about my high copper. At this point I think I've concluded

that use of ALA makes no difference in my hair copper, though. Maybe

working on my thyroid and adrenals will help the copper.)

Are you low

Extreme low end of normal.

I looked back and I see that I posted here in March that Andy had said

that. However, I no longer remember where I got that. I tried

onibasu, but I didn't have the patience to sift through every time

Andy mentioned cysteine and it might have been stated in one of his

books anyway.

My symptoms seem to match yours almost exactly. I've been chelating

with DMSA 25mg. for two months. I'm definitely lead toxic. Also boron,

bismuth and possibly mercury.

Could you please tell me which supplements you used and which ones you

would recommend for smooth chelation. I'd also like to know what

purpose each supplement serves. I think you are lead toxic as well, right?

Thanks,

Mike
