A 3 month follow up ultrasound is being set up for my neck, ex-

thyroid area, a 6 month follow up Cat Scan for my adrenal growth.

Another test is later this month to rule out whether my epinephrines

are elevated due to stress. He said he would only have the adrenal

growth removed if the chemicals showed something was going on. He

said there will be yearly scans to watch the growth. I'm going to

wait for the scan and the other test before bringing up again that

it is the growth I want out, and that my thyroid blood levels were

normal even though my thyroid was dying, so I don't trust specimin

tests. After that, depending on what he says, I'll decide whether

to go to other docs or not.

I think I got a gem of an endo ! I talked about my energy level and

my brain not working well (cried just a bit on that one). He asked

me what my energy is, on and off Cytomel, 1 to 10. I said 6 and 1.

He said " you do need Cytomel! " No need for begging there ! He said

several times that he doesn't think increasing my T4 med will help

my brain stuff, but he is increasing it 25 mcg(mg?)for a total of

225. I also will continue to take 3 mcg Cytomel 2x a day (or there

about since I have to divide the pill.) I know the signs of having

too much med, I sweat and diarrhea, so if those start up, I

decrease, starting with cytomel, probably. Per my brain, next step

is to decrease or get off some other meds I'm on that effect brain

function, and sedate. When I'm done with that, 3 months or so, if I

feel my brain still isn't optimal, I go back to endo and a hunting

we go. He said something about a Neuropsychsomething, and a memory

test. I'm going to go through these routes, keeping in mind Armour

is another option. I may try it last, see if it helps.

We went over my pathology report. Some of the cells the report

mentions, he says only occur in those who have had thyroiditis.

That explains some of my symptoms the last 2 to 3 yrs. He said

before, my thyroid was close to dying, and today he said that's why

there was thyroiditis. I think I cycled between hypo and hyper.

Tho the year and a half of diarrhea, till stop-up meds this summer,

was hyper stuff, it's cleared up since surgery. But, then, (but -

har har!) I would have a week here and there with normal poop, for

that year and a half.

Cancer had gone into a vein. Thus my follow up ultrasound to see if

any nodes are involved, surgeon saw none during surgery.

2 of my parathyroids did come out. Path report says they are

flattened against the one lobe. He asked if I had any low calcium

symptoms, I said no, but I'm going to be aware the next week or so

and decide whether I do have slight tingling still. On thyca,

someone said calcium problems can add to mind problems.

Endo is a praying doc, and I'm a praying person. He asked if I

would like him to pray for me. I thought that was cool ! I'm

evaluating him on how he meets my health needs, but still, I think

that's cool.

I have thyroid blood tests, from when I was in the ER in September

with what we know now was thyroiditis from hell, from October for

pre surgery and thyroiditis had calmed down, from January after

about a month on meds(a boo-boo) and then a couple weeks ago - week

8 or 9 on meds. It's interesting to compare the levels. Even

though I was a higher TSH in the ER test, my other numbers were

higher too.

One thing I've noticed - I stay up late - and about midnight I get a

heat surge. I take my T4 med late morning/noon, 1st Cytomel then,

then second Cytomel 4ish. If I take second Cytomel later, I have

sleep from hell. Socks are off now, sweatshirt is coming off, and

heat almost off and will turn it off after hitting send here. I'm

not complaining, after being cold all my life, this is great ! Just

something new I'm noticing. I'm having to interpret a set of whole

new body signals.

Latest labs:

Antibodies pending

T3 uptake - 33 (range 22 - 35)

T4 totat - 10 (range 4.5 - 12.5)

Free T4 - 3.3 (range 1.4 - 3.8)

TSH - .15 (for us thycans, it should be .01 to .40)

I want to give a shout-out to my hubby, best in the world. I was

going to do some specific tasks this week, but am just not up to

it. Talking to him about it, he said " I support you 100% in this

sweetie, do what you have to do, to take care of yourself and get

better. " sigh. He isn't irritated about doing most of the

housework on top of his full time job, cooking dinner, and on top of

all that, is just loving me. I think I already have my valentine.

sigh.
