Guest guest
> ... I posted a question about the hepatic artery and did not > receive an answer from anyone who had this problem. Do you recall > any posts about this? I don't remember this being a frequently reported problem. Our research posters (, Barb and Pat) have posted abstracts about hepatic artery thrombosis (this may be what is restricting blood flow to 's liver). Tina reported the successful treatment of her husband's thrombosis in message 80200 (Jan 2006). reported losing his first transplant due to hepatic artery thrombosis in 1996 in message 81454 (Feb 2006). Narrowing of the anastamosis (joining of the artery) - as Aubrey wrote in message 82264 (Mar 2006) can be a complication of surgery. I hope will have the narrowing of her artery successfully delt with at MUSC. Tim R

Guest guest
Quantell had a late-onset hepatic artery thrombosis, 3 months most-tx. After a lot of consults, we agreed he wasn't likely to survive re- transplant. The team tried an innovative approach involving a stent with an external port, into which gentamicin and colymiacin would be infused. Five years later, I'm still doing daily infusions and Q is having the sent exchanged every 3 months. No doc wants to be the one to say stop, so we just keep plugging along.
