Yes, and it is very interesting.

You're just out of practice.

THANK YOU!

Your comment stuck with me all night and morning, and just now when I talked

to my mom on the phone I told her the whole story and then what you

said, then said, " Is that true? I mean, the things I notice are obvious,

aren't they? " (obvious to me, anyway)

And then my mom made me cry. She said I notice EVERYTHING, more than most

people. She said is lucky to have me because of it. She said I'm so

in tune with him that it's amazing.

I still don't see it - it all seems self-explanatory to me, and something

everyone does - but to hear my mom say that was just overwhelming. My chest

is tight right now writing all this out.

Thank you for saying I'm amazing, and thank you for sparking off a

conversation with my mom where she told me what a good mom I am. :-) I

think that's all any mother wants, isn't it? For HER mother to think she's

a good mother?

I can imagine. Literally. Sometimes I forget how to do simple stupid

things too.

I'm going to let him keep struggling through that at the end of the day,

though - because he CAN do it, even if it takes longer, and every time he

does it he's accomplished something big.

I am VERY detail oriented. When I told my boss at the library I wanted to

do something different than shelve the kids' books, she said, " Good! I need

someone who pays attention to little details and is a perfectionist to do

the A/V processing! You're perfect for it! "

I was surprised that my persnickety-ness was THAT obvious. LOL.

Damn! You can DO that???

I CANNOT do that! I have to call my best friend and ask HER what colour I

should paint a room in my house, or where i should move my couch -- and

she's only been to this house about 6 times in 3 years!

This is why my house constantly is unfinished - because I can't envision

what the next thing is.

How I envy you!

LOL - Marc has been coming home from this job for three years now and

painstakingly describing what different machines look like to illustrate his

stories...and after three years, I still can't picture it in my head. Not

even a little. It all looks like flubber to me. ;-) I've never even SEEN

machinery in a factory, so he could tell me all about it until he's blue in

the face, but I don't even have a basic generic image in there to work with,

so I just smile and nod and think about my grocery list.
