Hi

A TSH of 46 no wonder you aren't feeling better yet!

the only discouraging part.. is it will be a little longer before you

do.. it takes up to 6 weeks for the synthroid to totally kick in and

get you to whatever level it will get you to... but the encouraging

part is that soon you will be starting to feel somewhat better as

your new higher dose kicks in.

Hi dear ,

You know, I don't want to minimize the stress of being let go, but in this

case with your boss, I think it is a blessing in disguise. With your faith and

your positive attitude and focusing on the things you have to be grateful for,

everything will work out just fine.

There is a verse I love in the Bible that says in 29:11, " For I know

the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to

harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. "

So, if you are a woman of faith, you can look at it as nothing can come into

your life that does not pass through God's hands first. He is our provider.

I will join you in prayer that you will find a healthier work environment.

That alone can help your kidneys stay stable longer since it is well known that

high blood pressure just by itself even without IgAN is a risk factor for

renal failure.

Please keep us posted on how the job hunt is going.

Hey ,

There are some jobs that eat at you and it's just plain not worth it and it

sounds like your gig was one of them.

Good luck job hunting!

On my wife 's job hunting and such..

Although is not going to pursue it, the local Dialysis Center,

which is run by her Nephrologist, is looking for a Nurse. :) They

have great benefits, good hours and pretty decent pay. They even

include training for all the differnt aspects of dialysis for their

nurses.

On the up-side, she'd get to keep her current doctor, she understands

renal failure from the patient's perspective, possible employee

discounts!

However, it might be weird to work with your Neph everyday and " be at

work " even when you are dialyizing!

Hi ,

I believe you when you say that you're fine. I'm sure that many here can

identify with your situation. I give you credit for hanging in there (and

letting the cards fall, because of unemployment) and not just throwing up

your hands and quitting your job which happens to many people. They can't

take the pressure of holding out. Then if it takes longer to find a job

than they expected, they don't have the unemployment to rely on.

I feel confident that things will get settled down for you with the work

situation. Hang in there, remember that there will be a better

opportunity out there for you, just have patience.

Connie

PS Let us know how the labs come out at the end of the month!

Hi guys and girls, here I am again talking about not necessarily

kidney-related stuff. I told you all how I was not real happy with

my job. Well, I had the best week off last week, enjoyed and

cherished every minute of it. When I walked in this morning, before

I could even sit down, the boss " let me go " . Honestly, the feeling

was mutual. I felt like we'd been in a battle over who would go

first, would I quit or would they fire me. I didn't want to quit,

just in case I needed unemployment. I imagine I'm probably giving

you all too much information. I'm starting job hunting tomorrow, and

I don't think I'll have too much trouble. I prayed yesterday that

God would work everything out and that we would both have the faith

to trust Him to take care of us. i'm fine, I only worry about my

husband, he always gets so upset about finances. But I've assured

him I'll be job-hunting tomorrow,so he has nothing to worry about.

My husband, , last week said " Man, you've been in a good mood

all week. " I said " yes, cause I haven't been to work. So you can

SEE what a difference it has made in my demeanor. " I think that's

one reason he's not too upset, plus, he knew it was coming.

My blood pressure had been high the last couple of weeks, and I

had lost 5 lbs. without really trying. I think it was work stress.

I totally expect it to be better now. I think I'm gonna try COBRA to

keep my insurance, just until I get the next job. My next neph appt

is at the end of the month and I'm anxious to see how things have

progressed, or hopefully NOT progressed.

To Rita, when you talked about enjoying grilling salmon with

your husband, I agree. It's the simple things that bring you

happiness, and there are much bigger priorities than dwelling on

things that make you unhappy. I was sad yesterday, when I saw

someone who's now pregnant for the SECOND time in a year, when we've

been trying for 2+ and now the neph says we can't. But, I prayed

about it and there are SO many more things for me to be thankful for,

so I need to dwell on them.

To Sharon, I welcome you and I want to ask you where you're

from. With the y'all and everything, I'm just curious.

Dear ,

I want to let you, and anyone else who cares, that I am thrilled!!!!!! I

woke up this morning confident, happy and excited. I went to apply at

another home health agency for the same position as I had at the other place

and I have an interview tomorrow. Judging by how the lady spoke to me, it's

basically a formality and then I'll get started right away. Just the

receptionist and another nurse I spoke to up there seemed very pleasant. A

funny story: the receptionist said " Oh, you worked at such and such place

for this brother. Oh, what's his name? " I told her the bosses name and she

said, yeah. I asked her if she knew him and she said no, but she'd heard

about him from some of the nurses. I asked if it was good or bad, and she

said what she had heard was that he was a jerk. I told her that was good,

cause then I'd have a way to explain why I no longer worked there. And she

said yes, she was sure would understand. The point of that story is

that his reputation precedes him and NOT in a good way. So, I don't think

anyone is gonna hold it against me that I was let go.

, I've been reading some Bible verses lately and I plan to do even more

because they are so encouraging. Beth says its good to pray God's

word back to Him, that He loves it. I believe He does, because He has joy

when we show that we BELIEVE them.

funny story: the receptionist said " Oh, you worked at such and such place

for this brother.

Hi dear ,

You know, I don't want to minimize the stress of being let go, but in this

case with your boss, I think it is a blessing in disguise. With your faith

and

your positive attitude and focusing on the things you have to be grateful

for,

everything will work out just fine.

There is a verse I love in the Bible that says in 29:11, " For I

know

the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not

to

harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. "

So, if you are a woman of faith, you can look at it as nothing can come into

your life that does not pass through God's hands first. He is our provider.

I will join you in prayer that you will find a healthier work environment.

That alone can help your kidneys stay stable longer since it is well known

that

high blood pressure just by itself even without IgAN is a risk factor for

renal failure.

Please keep us posted on how the job hunt is going.

While I can see enormous benefits to taking the position, I just gotta agree

with on this one. That might easily be way too much kidney consciousness!

sounds wise that she is not pursueing this too closely Speaking entirely

for myself, I'd burn out in two weeks.

Although is not going to pursue it, the local Dialysis Center,

which is run by her Nephrologist, is looking for a Nurse. :) They

have great benefits, good hours and pretty decent pay. They even

include training for all the differnt aspects of dialysis for their

nurses.

On the up-side, she'd get to keep her current doctor, she understands

renal failure from the patient's perspective, possible employee

discounts!

However, it might be weird to work with your Neph everyday and " be at

work " even when you are dialyizing!

forgot to mention that the hours really aren't so good. I don't know

if those of you on dialysis realize this, but those nurses work 4 A.M. to 8

P.M. shifts. Only 2 or 3 days a week, but on those days, they kill

themselves. Maybe not all dialysis centers work on those schedules, but

they do here. 16 hrs. shifts. No way, !!
