Sharon, I bought an exercise ball over the weekend and love it. I got it at

Walmart for $13. It is large like the ones at a local sports store that sell

for $50. I asked my Dr. about the exercises for abs and he suggested the ball

and so did my trainer at the gym. You have to develop the muscles that are

under the fat in your belly. And also burn the fat that sits on those muscles.

Granted I will NEVER have a 6 pack, but as long as I know I have ab muscles that

are developed that's fine with me.

I am wondering if we ever figured out exercises to flatten round bellies? I am

sure cardio is needed to burn that fat. And I am reading that crunches may not

be the best to flatten the tummy. How about crunches on a ball? I am not

interested in surgery but am interested in workouts for a fat tummy.

Thanks...

Sharon

My husband said that he read an article in some men's magazine that said

the whole six pack abs thing is genetic. You either have them or you

don't. It has to do with the way the muscles in your body are formed so

some people can do all the ab exercises they can come up with and will

still never have the " six pack " .

Yes, that's *very* true. Brittney Spears is a PERFECT example. She does like

500 crunches every day (different types) and she doesn't have a six-pack. She's

have very defined abs, but she's not genetically disposed to have a six-pack.

Then you look at Janet and she sure does! Personally I think it

looks kinda strange on a woman.

I got one the other day, but mine was free. I bought a step for a 100 rep DVD

workout that I received the other day (you need something to keep you off the

ground for some of the exercises). It was on sale at Big 5 for $29.99 (normally

$14.99) and came with a Cathe step video. The ball was on sale for $14.99

(normally $29.99). So it came out to be what I would have paid if I just bought

the step. So I look at it as getting the ball for free :o)!!!!!!!! I didn't

even know they were on sale when I went there, I just decided to go ahead and

get the step. Then I saw the ball and decided to go ahead and get it. As Mikey

says " I did the math " and figured it was worth it. It seemed as good as the

balls that weren't on sale, so I went for it.

Gymmie in Cali :o)!!!!!!!

Yes, I don't think they look right on women either. I think women should just

be defined, but not all ripped like that. I don't like those women body

builders, I think they look gross. Even male body builders, ICK!!!!!!!!!!

Cardio will burn the fat.

Crunches will flatten the supporting muscles.

The extra skin on top will hopefully shrink. Mine is slowly. I had a

VERY round tummy and now in clothes it is flat.

LOL!!!!!!!!!! Good for you. I at one time had been good about working my way

up to 100. Started slacking off. Need to get back into it, so I can see what I

have under this blubber once it goes away.
