Am very familiar with it. It is purely stopgap,

lowering the PSA with estrogen like natural

products that have complications. ie: loss of

libido, hot & cold flashes, l0-15 % weight gain,

breast soreness and enlargement, mood

changes...just as in female change of life.

SPES by itself. best, JR

I have a relative with advanced Prostate cancer. Its been recommended he try

an herbal product called " PC SPES. " It has been extremely difficult to find

it, & as we understand it, will be very expensive.

Has anyone heard of or used the therapy? If so, how is it working? If you

can recommend its use, where can it be purchased & how much does it cost?

Thanks for your help.

Thhere is SPES and PC SPEC. We use SPES. It is expensive. We paid $80.45

for just 30 tablets. It is an herbal formula supposed to build the immune

system. We go to an alternative clinic Schachter Clinic in NY State. It

was recommended as part of the protocol. Seems all of the products are very

expensive and not covered by insurance. But we're looking at it as " we

probably won't be doing this forever. " Just until the immune system is built

up (as chemo and radiation did damage).

My husband has pancreatic cancer (removed) But now has surfaced in liver.

Blood clots were the signal. Tumors Are still small, but w'e're hoping to

dissolve them with alternative methods when immune system is built up.

Prostate cancer is less aggressive and much more curable. There are many

products that will enhance the immune system + other less expensive products

for fighting your type of cancer. Check out website

http://.best.com/~Cancell/nathan.htm

There is a testimonial from a man who had prostate cancer and took Cantron

aka, Cancell and has been well since 1994. The 800 # for obtaining

Cantron is 800-443-3030. Bromelain should be taken with it + drink a gallon

of water per day .... that's 6 - 8 glasses. Cost of Cantron is $170 for

six-month supply. Dont' let them sell you the entire package for $900.

They don't make a lot of $$ on this so they have to make money other ways.

It's sold strictly as a diet supplement or they'll get shut down by the FDA.

I'm not recommending it, just passing on info.

My husband had chemo and it's not known if Cantron can still be effective

after chemo. + he ended up in the hospital for most of Sept on IV's, which

I was pretty certain was washing the Cantron out of his system. You can't

take herbs like Essiac Tea or other herbs or it counteracts the ffects of

Cantron, Some people claim they've had good results after Chemo and

radiation. There is a network of people who were cured and promote the

qualitie of Cantron with meetings throughout the U.S. Just another avenue

you might explore. The world of alternatives is so confusing and EXPENSIVE,

but we found mainstream has a very low success rate It's not

confusing.....it's very predictable and scary.

Good luck ..... my prayers are with you.

Yes, alternative therapy CAN get pricey. That's because it's not covered by

insurance (although I've heard that some plans are starting to cover SOME

alternative therapies) However, if you were to compare it to the actual

costs of chemo or radiation or surgery, the cost is minimal.

Chemo drugs can cost thousands if not tens of thousands of dollars.

Radiation equipments costs the hospitals a fortune, so they charge a small

fortune to recoup the cost and profit. So the insurance companies gets most

of the bills, who in turn pass it along to the public. So they ALL make

money.

When it comes to cancer, conventional therapy totally neglects to treat the

patient...it's goal is to kill off the cancer cells...even if they have to

kill the patient to do it.

Thanks for sending some very encouraging information. I have a relative who

is at about the same stage as you were in 1997 & is extremely interested in

what you had to say. Will you tell me where you purchased PC SPES & how much

it costs? I suspect it isn't cheap. Also, is a doctor's prescription

necessary for the purchase?

Thanks for your help, & continued good fortune as you fight your battle with

Cancer.

Does anyone know the difference between Spes and PC Spes. My husband is on

Spes as one of the supplements recommended by an alternative clinic. We've

paid (hold on to your hat!!) $80 for a supply of 30 capsules. Our

recommended dosage is 6 per day.

YES IT IS EXPENSIVE. AND NOT COVERED BY INSURANCE.

I find it suspicious how the FDA is going after herbal supplements yet they continue to allow the sale of so many prescriptions drugs that have seemingly been implicated in deadly reactions. Something is wrong with this picture.

What's so strange? Anyone who knows how the FDA operates knows it is not an

advocate for the consumer, nor a protector of the public, except in name and

PR. It's function is to present a PR appearance which is palatable to the

marketplace thus insuring profitable sales without panic. Protection of the

food (and drug) supply to citizens of the United States is 80% propaganda,

15% industrial relations and 5% protection... (my numbers of course, your

opinion and thus your mileage may vary.)

Think " reduced cavities with fluoride " from studies that showed all the

teeth rotted and fell out, thus there were fewer cavities. Gotta love that

government... any government.
