Guest guest
Hi Bonnie, I don't live in PA, but I'm sure every state has a developmental disabilities division of the department of health. Is he/she diagnosed with MR? If so, the ARC in their state (Association of Retarded Citizens) can provide day center services as well as respite, among other things. We've had to move with the military a lot so these are starting points for me on my search for services. A quick Google check came up with this link: http://www.dpw.state.pa.us/Disable/HomeCommServices/ Sorry, that's under the Department of Public Welfare. This might be something they already know, though. Sorry I can't be of more help!

Guest guest
Bonnie, like you, I understand this problem only too well. I've intended for ages to post what we've done " about " , but it's really difficult to find the time even though she's with " staff " much of each week day.. I'll try my best to do an outline, at least, tomorrow or so. You know, we've even signed a lease on a house here for , have a great agency working for us, have fantastic signing and understanding staff, yet cannot get the go ahead to actually open the house until we/the Regional Center finds a housemate ---- so I don't have all answers, but I think I can probably help get started. Should I fail to post tomorrow, please send me a reminder. It could turn out that it will be easiest for me to phone when someone is here to be with . Guest guest
Oh, Ellen, If only someone could figure out how to put together two young adults from two different states! That would solve everything. Martha
