Just did a quick search.

The are dilated superficial blood vessels, telangiectasia is in same

catagory as scleroderma.

However, there could be a connection to medications (including anesthesia?)

as you say it worsened post surgery. you might want to ask about that.

Good ol' CHARGE-never boring !

Oh, boy! I haven't heard of that one. Can't even figure out how to

pronounce it! I hope you get some quick answers for Cedie. Let us know

what you find out.

Telangiectasias

Have any of you heard of telangiectasias? Just when we thought that

Cedie has been seen by every specialist there is, they decided that she

needed to be seen by a dermatologist! She has a spot on her forehead

that gets redder as she gets angry or upset. That has been there since

birth. However, now she has some markings on her stomach as well. I

think they look like bruises, but what do I know, I'm just her mom!

They just appeared a couple weeks ago, around the time of her ear tubes

surgery. I think they bruised her when they were trying to get an IV in

(it took 8 tries by 4 different nurses!). However, it is wierd that

they haven't disappeared.

Telangectasis is the medical term for " dilated blood vessels. " The little spot

Cedie has is just a small grouping of blood vessels that are always dilated.

When she gets upset, her body releases chemical messages into her blood stream

that causes blood vessels to dilate and allow more blood through, which makes

the spot look that much redder.
