Wow, Alvaro, no pills?? I knew you took IVIg, but thought you were also

taking Prednisone. Is this common for IBM??

You should definately get a prize, though. That's great!!

taking Prednisone. Is this common for IBM??

What the neuro told us is that IBM usually does not respond to meds

like prednisone, MTX or other immunosuppressants. Unless the biopsy

actually shows the characteristic vacuoles or inclusion bodies, the

other way to diagnose IBM is find that the treatments for PM don't

make any difference. Then they stop the meds because they have such

strong effects on the rest of the body.

IVIG sometimes makes a difference, but not always.

While the symptoms are similar (except for rash), IBM has a different

mechanism from PM, as well as from DM.

Thanks for the info, Tenayahh. I was aware that IBM usually doesn't respond

to Pred., but I guess I figured there would have to be some other meds. he

would be taking to help the IVIg along. Hmmm...interesting!!

Thanks for the info, Tenayahh. I was aware that IBM usually doesn't respond

to Pred., but I guess I figured there would have to be some other meds. he

would be taking to help the IVIg along. Hmmm...interesting!!

Dawn,

No pills and no Prednisone . Nothing!!

I receive the prize yesterday .lololo

I went to my Family Doctor and he give me a document wih this information:

" special permanent illness "

And with this document all treatments ,all meds are free, i dont´t need to

pay ( x-ray.emg,ivig,psical terapy....)
