Guest guest
, When they check the baby’s heartbeat, do they just pull up your shirt a little bit? I didn’t know. Do you think it’s too soon to tell people about the pg? I sent an email to a mgr at work yesterday who’s had several m/c’s and was so supportive of me in Jan. I wanted her to be the first to know in the office. I’m going to tell my boss on Monday. Anyway, she only read half the email and then jumped up from her office and ran to my desk and hugged me and said congratulations. I sit in a big room with all my coworkers so I acted like she had me mixed up with somebody. I went in her office later. She’d then read the whole email where I said not to say anything until Mon. afternoon when I could tell my boss. I went out with a co-worker last night though and she said my boss asked out loud I wonder if Janice is pg the day I called in sick. I think she’ll be pretty cool about it when I tell her. I live in a small town and it’s hard to keep secrets here. So are you thinking about the nursery? I painted it a blueish/lavendar color with white trim before I got pg. (I was just a little excited) I think I’m going to buy some Anne Geddes pictures and maybe a picture or two of kittens and puppies. Our house is small so we’ll probably have to sell it in 2 or 3 years and I don’t want to do anything that  might make it hard to sell. Chris’s parents gave us his bedroom suit when we married. It’s only 30 years old. But the two bureaus that go with it have pretty deep drawers. I thought maybe I could just use them, take the bed to my folks house and buy a crib. Martha wrote something about how that if you have a waist high dresser, you can turn it into a changing table. I was hoping I could do that. I’ll have to look and see what I can find. But I read somewhere that you have to be careful about the baby furniture you get—like if it has rough edges or toxous paint—the baby might scratch himself or suck the paint off the furniture??? I don’t know. I’m glad that you are feeling better! I have been feeling better since Tues. and the headaches aren't as bad. That is cool, you are telling family for Father's Day!! We haven't told that many people yet. I think dh is going to call his grandmom this weekend and tell her (than the news will travel quite fast up there!) I go to OB on the 3rd. I sure hope you get to hear the heartbeat too!! It is totally amazing! I just ordered a Doppler from BabyBeat.com. I should be getting it within 2-3days and can't wait. I don't think we will keep it until Dec. but I wanted to be able to hear the heartbeat in between apts for now. I do need to lay off the food, but I get soo hungry. I’m glad you are feeling better. Maybe your next pg will be less physically stressful. I’ve had little nausea so I just know the next time around I’ll be sick. And then I won’t be able to rest when I feel bad. I’ve got a drs. appt on July 5. I don’t know what to expect. I hope they’ll pull out the Doppler so I can hear the heartbeat Your appt. is that week too isn’t? I hope you, AmyR and I can go on the same day. That would be super cool. Janice ----- .. Guest guest
Janice, Congratulations sweetie, as of Wednesday you will officially be in the second trimester - let the honeymoon begin. This is the better stage of pg, the m/s should start to subside, you will definitely start to show and you will still be very comfortable, unlike the last trimester! Enjoy it sweetie. Love & hugs, Jo-Ann susan , Does the 2nd trimester technically begin at your 14th or 13th week? I didn’t know. I’ll be at 13 weeks Wednesday. Also, I’m of the understanding that when you tell people how far along you are, you are counting the 2 weeks before actual conception. Is that correct? Like we’re around 13 weeks from our last period and 11 weeks from conception? I hate math. How are you feeling? I’m doing good. Last night I was up til 3 or so though with major menstrual-like cramps. But no blood or anything, so I’m guessing it’s just my uterus contracting. The baby must be needing more room which is surely a good sign??? I always feel nausea at like 2 a.m.—never during the waking hours. I always think I’m going to hurl, but it doesn’t happen. I’ve been so lucky. You asked me last week if we plan to find out the gender of the baby. I think so. In my heart I want a girl as I have a nephew on both sides of the family. So if it’s a boy, I want 20 weeks to prepare and become psyched up. Of course, I really don’t care—as long as the baby is healthy. But I think it would be nice to know so you could be mentally prepared. I just bought this book, the girlfriend’s guide to the first year of motherhood. (I know I’m getting a little ahead of myself here) I’ve really enjoyed reading it. And I got one called the baby’s first year week by week. I haven’t looked at it yet. I know nothing about babies, so I need all the help I can get. I hope you continue to feel better and beat the m/s. Guest guest
Thanks susan, I missed you too!! My sister actually called me today to ask me questions about her cycle and O'ing!! I felt much better that she is sharing with me now and she said I helped her soo much. she is so hoping that we can get pg together!! I am just scared that if that happens and one of us loses the pg, it will be soooooo much harder for the other one.... there I go again worrying about things that may never happen!! I am soo glad that school is done for you. How are you feeling?? Love, lisa r
