Guest guest
, You lucked out that your top doc recognized fillings as an issue. Even when my neurologist conceded my problems were mercury related he didn't connect it with fillings. My MS symptoms turned out to be mercury poisoning. It is also what did in my thyroid and adrenals, and caused my gut issues that got worse as I got older. Neuropathy is very common in heavy metal poisoning, especially mercury. I was paralyzed for awhile and had tremors. Doing anti-parasite treatments and some other things I learned from mercury groups turned it around. I also noticed thyroid and mercury poisoning symptoms were so similar that I began to explore this several years ago and then my neurologist said the same thing. Mercury destroys the synapses and neurons in the brain. My problem actually started with vaccinations but the ongoing poisoning is coming from 9 huge fillings. I recommend joining the Mercury Yahoo groups. Dr. Cutler posts there frequently (or used to) but many very knowledgeable patients with great success stories are helping others now. He is a chemist who was also mercury poisoned. He works with autistic kids as well as mercury poisoned adults and has seen some remarkable recoveries. Just last week a parent posted on one of the groups their autistic daughter had a complete turnaround in 8 months and the doctor is amazed. She is no longer autistic. That is an extreme case, but shows what can be done when caught early in these kids. McCarthy is an actress who published a book recently on her son with autism and says the same thing. I recommend buying his book Amalgam Illness www.noamalgam.com/. However, there is a lot of info out there free too. If you get hair tests to find out what your toxic load is, you can post it on the yahoo groups and they will help you interpret them. Dr. Cutler is a strong proponent of ALA...it is the main chelator he uses to detox people, however, he is also adamant about not using it while fillings are still in the mouth and discusses this on a biochemical level regarding what happens to the cells and organic and methyl mercury. He recommends waiting 3 months after complete filling removal to begin. You can learn about his protocol on the message groups. I have been on his lists for about 6 years and have read many accounts of people messing themselves up with ALA while still having fillings as well as other chelators like DMPS load tests which well intentioned docs thought they were doing right only to cause serious issues and major neurological damage in their patients. He tells you what you can take while fillings are still in your mouth and what not to take until you get them removed. If you join his free Yahoo groups you will get extensive information on the biochemical reactions of various chelators like ALA and what it does in the body which will help you understand what you could be doing to yourself if you take it with mercury in your mouth. You do NOT want a regular dentist to remove your fillings. It has to be someone specially trained who follows the proper safe protocol. An untrained dentist can make it worse. If you contact Dr. Hal Huggins http://www.hugnet.com/ (also was mercury poisoned...pioneer on fillings link to mercury poisoning) he can refer you to someone near you. You want a biological dentist who does a compatibility test before to know what materials to use and provides an alternative air source, high suction, constant cool water and does a 4 -piece cut of the filling. This is the hard part as it is difficult to find a good dentist who is also affordable. I had one set up in Mexico then found out it is hit or miss...did a great job with some patients and really messed up others so I have to look again. Your amalgams can very likely be causing your thyroid and adrenals problems (number one complaint of mercury poisoned people) as well as your gut and liver issues. Here are a host of websites and groups that cover the protocol and where people will help you free: http://home.earthlink.net/~moriam/ANDY_INDEX.html http://home.earthlink.net/~moriam/ http://home.earthlink.net/~moriam/Andy_dose_sched.html http://home.earthlink.net/~moriam/HOW_TO_buy_DMSA.html http://home.earthlink.net/~moriam/HOW_TO_find_doctor.html http://home.earthlink.net/~moriam/LOVE_LETTERS.html http://home.earthlink.net/~moriam/Chelation_products.html http://home.earthlink.net/~moriam/Site_Disclaimers.html http://home.earthlink.net/~moriam/Glossary.html Join also these 2 forums where you'll find people who are using Andy Cutler's treatment. Talk to them and they'll confirm that his therapy really works. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/Autism-Mercury/ OR autism-mercury http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/frequent-dose-chelation/ OR adult-metal-chelation http://amalgamillness.com/AboutTheAuthor.html www.noamalgam.com Cheri Re: - peripheral neuropathy I guess that I need to look more into the supplements that Val mentioned for treating neuropathies, but, apparently, I also need to be careful about what I take b/c my Top Doc immediately pointed out my mercury fillings and said that I eventually needed to do something about them so I guess that rules out taking ALA (I don't even know what that is yet). I spent a good part of the last year having extensive dental work done to replace a 20 year old upper bridge with titanium implants and crowns. I was going to get braces on my lowers this coming year to finish off the job, but decided not to, to avoid the stress of additional doc's appts, and physical stress. Now I guess that I had better get back to the dentist and find out what I can do about my mercury fillings. My aunt had relapsing/remitting MS and died in her 50's, by the way.
