Guest guest
I am back from my visit with my onc. YEAH!!!! He took me off of Tamoxofen and put me back on Arimidex and there is a shot I take once a month with it. I forget the name of it. I had my first one today. I feel relieved to be off the Tamoxofen, I hated the way it made me feel all the time. I have had nothing but pain since starting the tamoxofen, I say "Good ridence." It is a beautiful sunny day here today in E. TN, temp is around 71 and I feel wonderful. God is sooooooooooo good to me and you. (I am talking to all of us here.) Thanks for the pep talk. I played 5 holes of golf with my hubby the other day. I was tired and could not go anymore, but I am willing to work up to that. ren
Guest guest
I am so happy for you Ren...I said a prayer for you last night, and again this morning. You're probably referring to "Lupron" injections to allow you to have the Arimidex pre-menopausally. I'm entertaining the same drug, instead of ovaries out to switch over to Arimidex. I'm doing that 35 mile walk for BC June 3 and 4, so I've remained non-commital until after the walk. (I always kid they will "find" my body on the side of the road) LOL - my trainer says I can do it, but I think she's paid to say that! I wish you goodness, joy and laughter Ren, today and everyday, and here's to good health as well. I can't believe it will be (2) years - let's pray for 20! - so glad to hear you played 5 holes; next time, you'll play 6! Guest guest
I found my paper, the new med is Zoladex. Never heard of it. They told me about all the side effects and if I have them tell my doctor. I looked at the nurse and said, "I already have all of those things going on." So, here I go. I am grateful for something different. They also set me up for genetic counseling and testing. If I carry the gene, then, my onc wants to look at me having a hysterectomy. He said, as far as cancer is concerned, I don't need it right now. So we will see. I thought BC patients were at a high risk for ovarian and uterian cancer. I asked him and he said, no, unless you carry that gene. Thanks for the prayers and the friendship. Have a wonderful day today and everyday. ren www.menpausewomentalk.com

Guest guest
Make sure it's covered (the genetic portion) - I've heard some astronomical figures on testing (like $3,000.). Zolodex is a "sister" of Lupron - shuts off estrogen production in the pituitary gland, which is where our ovaries get it. I'm so glad he gave you the option of Arimidex. Hope it helps with your leg.
