Hi ladies; My name is michelle, a.k.a("lil-bit"), I'm a 36 yrs. old woman, mother of a 16 yrs.old daughter and, 14 yrs. old son. I have a wonderful fiancee. I've been accepted and glad to have join the group. I recently was diagnosed with breast cancer, and the news just literally SHOCKED me to say the least. My children took it very hard as I did. I've had several tests done, and on Friday, 03-31-06, I go and see my onc. and he will tell me when I'm scheduled for surgery. All of your prayers will be most appreciated. I've been reading everyones e-mail, and it has just inspired me to respond even more so. Some are very touching, emotional, yet positive. Keep me in all of your prayers as mentioned before, I will be staying in

Welcome Lil-bit,

It seems ladies are getting breast cancer younger and younger. I was 44. It will be 16 yrs for me in May.Feel free to ask questions, vent etc. We are here for you. I believe there is a Yahoo Group for children of parents with cancer. I will keep you in my prayers.

Welcome to the group. I too was diagnosed at 36. I'm 37 now and

pretty much done with treatment. Please do keep us posted and

remember that you are not alone. My husband went with me and took

notes and asked questions while I sat there lost in space. It might

be helpful if you take someone with you for support and to jot down

some notes. It was a scary time but as time went by I realized how

fortunate that we live in a time where medicine is so advanced and

state of the art treatment is available and effective. Best of luck

to you on your appt tomorrow. Keep strong and remember you WILL get

through this!!!!

Welcome to a wonderful "friendship" of women in cyberspace!

I have a 14 year old daughter and a 16 and 20 year old son. Remember, they are following your "cue" as to how they respond - when you're upset, they will be upset. Hopefully, they are being helpful and supportive as well as upset.

You're in good hands with this group - they are like an extension of my family and I'm thankful daily for sharing my life with them.

lil-bit... you are probably too young to remember this... i read somewhere that

when queen elizabeth was little, she was known as lil-bit because that's the

only way she could pronounce her name. however, it was soon decided that

" lil-bit " was too undignified for a future queen and after that no one was

allowed

to call her that!
