Guest guest
I am having a near breakdown moment! I am very frusterated! I have been emailing companies to find out if products are gluten free and keep getting emails back telling me to read the ingredient list. UGH!!!! If I could tell by the ingredient list why would I waste my time contacting them?!? How could I possibly know if natural and artificial flavors/colors contain gluten?! I am so irritated with hearing " we make our products for the majority of our customers, not those on special diets " WTF? 1 in 133 people in the US has Celiac disease why is there no awareness? We are a HUGE chunk of the market! I am so sick of everything being off limits. This sucks! Ok I am done, thanks for letting me get that out! I will refuse to buy ANY products from the likes of such. They could make the most pure non-gluten decadent luxury in the known Universe. But if they treat people rudely, I'll refuse to buy it. And I'll tell all whom I know to refuse to buy it. I have to say that I've never received a rude response. I've gotten responses I didn't want to read (like - " Sorry, our zeppoles are all made with wheat " ). But I've never gotten a " go read the ingredients list " response. What jerks. Sometimes I've had to wait a while. Sometimes I think I've been forgotten about. And sometimes the manufacturer has had to track down the source of something (especially with medicines). But I've yet to be treated rudely. Tell me who treated you so badly. I'm serious. I'll never buy another product from them again. Ever. Even if you're asking something that they get asked a thousand times a day, they should just have a stock response that they can cut and paste. There's NO excuse for treating a customer rudely. None. Guess they didn't go to Business 101. " The customer is always right. " Esther
Guest guest
Exact quote from Lawry's " our products are formulated for use by the majority of our consumers, and not specifically for those on restricted diets " , " Therefore, we suggest reading all ingredient labels carefully. If you cannot determine whether or not the product contains the ingredient in question, or if you feel uncomfortable about the ingredients used in our products, it is our recommendation that you do not use them. " - Fine I wont and either will my family and friends!! I got almost identical response from Knorr and Brach's candy. Colgate was also suprizingly rude. On a plus note the following companies were very nice even if products contained gluten- Kraft, Walgreens, marcus movie theatres, vitasoy, s, Durkee, crockery gourmet, crest, and Newman's Own If anyone would like these companies gluten free lists just let me know. > > > > I am having a near breakdown moment! Guest guest
Cover Girl was snotty when I emailed them- " Read the label and consult with your doctor " . Gee thanks guys, she has nothing better to do than read labels with me. *rolls eyes* > > Exact quote from Lawry's " our products are formulated for use by the > majority of our consumers, and not specifically for those on > restricted diets " , "
Guest guest
I don't think Cover Girl necessarily has wheat in their products. At least, it isn't obvious from the ingredient list. I always used them without incident. However, I also don't have dermal reactions. > > I could never use Cover Girl products.. .would always break out with them. > Never could understand it... until this moment. Guest guest
If we don't have them already on the board, it would probably be very helpful to many people if you posted them here. > On a plus note the following companies were very nice even if > products contained gluten- Kraft, Walgreens, marcus movie theatres, > vitasoy, s, Durkee, crockery gourmet, crest, and Newman's Own > If anyone would like these companies gluten free lists just let me > know. >
Guest guest
I have never been able to use Cover Girl products - I turn bright red from any of their products. Don't think it has to do with wheat, as this was years ago and the wheat thing seems to be new. > > > > I could never use Cover Girl products.. .would always break out > with them. Guest guest
I have tried Pantene products. I LOATH them because they always leave such a build up in my hair and I have full and thick hair already, so that wouldn't be so good for me. Thank you though for the suggestion. Guest guest
--- I had the Carroll Shelby Chili Co. be extremely unkind. I emailed to ask if the product had gluten. The response was... " We invite you to pick up a package of our chili mix and read the ingredients! " That angered me and I wrote back to expalin the importance and my situation (newly dx diabetic celiac and just double checking b/c I hated to make my 5 y.o. sick) and ask more specifically what was in it. I was upset by the first response and did email " Thanks for being so kind in helping me as I did read the package. " and said " Please walk a mile in someone else's shoes and when asked a question, simply answer it! " He emailed back... " Get some help! " I contacted the C.S. children's foundation and talked with the president b/c the chili man was the head of his department. He then emailed to apologize and said he thinks we had a communication problem! He wanted my address to send my child a C.S. T-shirt. Awe, wasn't that sweet? NOT! Anyways, it is gluten free if anyone even cares!!!
