Guest guest
I was never sure about this either, even after doing research. But, when I got married last year my poor then fiance licked every envelope for me because I wasn't sure. He did a little bit each night because it was sooooo gross for him. What a guy! Now I do the same thing as you do...a wet paper towel. Guest guest
I personally splurge on the self-sealing variety myself... ;-) ________________________________ From: SillyYaks on behalf of Rhiannon Sent: Mon 2/20/2006 8:05 PM To: SillyYaks Subject: Re: a humble moment I was never sure about this either, even after doing research. Guest guest
LOL I like that too! Mimi Laurie Bilyeu wrote: They said to a sibling, “Gluten is to your sister like dog poop is to you. How much dog poop would you like on your plate?” I thought it was just brilliant, really—clear AND gross. Laurie lbilyeu@...
Guest guest
Ever since being DXed as celiac and learning to avoid licking envelopes and stamps, I can't help but thinking of Castanza's poor unfortunate fiance's untimely demise... due to 's buying the cheapest envelopes he could find and the fiance licking all of them. Perhaps she was celiac??!! This is from the realm of " Seinfeld " , if you're not sure what I'm talking about. I'm sure I'm dating myself. Let's just say I'd never heard of anyone being sick from envelopes before Seinfeld. And then it was presented as fiction. But in real life, I just now avoid licking envelopes. Guest guest
Not a big Seinfeld fan but I do know what you are talking about. Personally, I scotch tape them shut. Guest guest
Hi Esther, I too am a Seinfield fan and remember the episode. As for licking emvelopes..before I knew the glue could have wheat gluten in it I would sometimes lick an envelope at work then wonder why I felt sick to my stomach, sometimes I would gag-go figure.
