Lucy,

There is at least one on this group that has the same problem. I get

cramping pain in my ribs when I try to tie my shoes or do anything that

causes pull, I guess you could say, in that area. Yes, the stabbing pain

too. I also get it through my breasts especially on the left side.

Please take care,

Irene

Hi my name is Lorraine, I have had Fibromyalgia since birth.

I had a traumatic birth in that I remember being born and entering

into this world. For years I had nightmares of which I couldn't tell

any one about them, as a child I had no understandind of birth details

until I was older and only then did I realise what it was all about.

The nightmares were very vivid and haunted me for many years. As a

baby I had fits and as long as I can remember I have had pain and have

never known life without pain. I would injure for no reason at all. I

would awake in the morning to find I had an injury of some sort and so

my life was set.

I was diagnosed about 6 years ago by Dr Thai at the Pain Management

Clinic after going through many painful procedures and tests. I am

unable to work and am at present crippled due to a fall

downstairs. I understand a lot of what others are going through.

I go into hospital every 4 months for Lignacaine infusion which is the

only treatment that has worked for me so far. In between I have to

take strong pain killers daily as without them I would be truly

bedbound.

I am truly glad that I have a diagnoses for my illness as for years I

was told it was all in my mind and to pull myself together. I don't

let it get me down, I live each day to the best I can. I don't get

depressed by it which supprises people I meet. My answer is what good

is it getting depressed by my condition as it only pushes people away

from you. My condition is getting worse but I am glad I can still do

something some of the time. I did what I could when I could and I have

no regrets. An I still do what I can when I can. I can't plan a day

ahead as I never know how I am going to be. I just have lists of

things I would like to do and then choose to do them when I feel

capable too. That way I feel I have acheived something.

I hope this is of a help to others.
