Dear ,

Welcome, welcome, welcome!!!

I'm pretty new here, too, and I love it. The people

here are just great!

I never knew I could feel so connected to people I've

never even seen!

I'm still trying to figure out my computer. A friend

of mine tried to teach me how to cut and paste, and

I came home and did it on mine once...now I've

forgotten how! That darn 'brain fog'...it makes

things

a challenge!

Mail me anytime...I love to talk!!!!

Hi ,

Have you had more stress in your life lately than

usual? If so, take some time to yourself. Put on

some soft music, lay in tub with bubbles and try

and clear your mind. Just relax as much as possible.

Close your eyes, take deep slow breaths, start with

you toes and fell them go limp, and do the same slowly

up the rest of your body. Lie there awhile and see

yourself in what you would consider and relaxing

wonderful place to be. Picture soft clouds, feel the

warmth of the sun. Watch gentle breezes in the trees,

or see water glistening and hear the sound of the

water

lapping, etc. Do this everyday, and see what happens!

Make it a priority. It's for you and well worth it!

Have a great day!

Welcome ,

It amaze's me how many nurses have fibro. I belong to this group and 2

more and there has to be 20 nurses that I've met. I also am an R.N. I am

not working now as the pain of the fibro has become too severe. I miss

working a lot, and am hoping that someday I will go back. There is a lot of

help here and the people are great.

Welcome June to the group. We are very good to help each of us when we need

support or just to listen to what you have to say.

We are all where you are and if things are bad and you need to rant a little

about it, we listen too as you will hear from some of us every now and again.

Take care,

Hello everyone,

I am here searching to some extent. After a very traumatic period in my

life, I developed what the doctors have only been willing to call

'undiagnosed chronic fatigue'. Now, ten years later, it is still

undiagnosed and I am still fatigued. Over the years I have been tested for

everything under the sun and told I am healthy as the proverbial horse.

<sigh>

I was exploring on the net the other day and came across a Fibromyalgia

site. A friend of mine had suggested I look into it. I sat with my mouth

hanging open as ALL of my symptoms were described, including the odd ones

like the tingling in my hands and feet. This was also the first time I had

seen 'fibro-fog' described, which I had always used the old 'Quantum Leap'

TV show term to describe, saying I had a 'swiss-cheese' brain - solid in

some places with BIG holes in others.

Anyhow, I am here to listen and to learn. I go to a

natural/homeopathic/chiropractic and regular doctor. I love him. He thinks

outside the box, but he is not into 'defining' things - so I don't know that

I could ever get a definite 'you have fibromyalgia' out of him. I have pain

all the time and burning in my muscles, etc. plus the fatigue and all those

pain points involved.... The doctors have eliminated Epstein Barre,

Hepatitis, Thyroid, etc. so I think this is where I belong.

Fortunately, I am an artist and hope-to-be writer and am self-employed, so I

can make my own schedule around this illness most of the time.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I look forward to reading and participating.

It's good to be somewhere where people DO know what it is you're talking

about. I had hesitated to join a list, but after being home for almost

three months I knew I had to talk with others who are also in this same

boat.

D: I'm going to have to quit work here soon unless my neurologist comes up

with a miracle. I know that my list buddies are going to be what helps to

keep me feeling connected when I'm finally home and not around other people

so much.

There are others who have this MUCH worse than I do. If it takes me six

weeks instead of two days to get things done -- so be it. I don't know if

it gets worse, stays the same or if it ever goes away.

D: I think this is a big mental adjustment we all have to make. Learning to

not care if it takes you much longer to do something or if you can't do

something on a particular day is a big step in helping to make ourselves

feel a bit better.

Am thinking that I would like to get into some sort of volunteer work, but

am trying to fathom this thing out. I don't want to commit myself and then

be unable to do what I committed to.

June

Organizations are so happy to get anyone to volunteer, they aren't going to

be upset if you don't feel well enough to come in on a given day. Pick an

activity that seems about your speed, and if on some days you aren't able to

come in, it will still be ok!!

I have to say, what the heck is " undiagnosed chronic fatigue " ? Is this way

of saying they don't know what's causing it, but it's not the same thing as

" Chronic Fatigue Syndrome " ? I also have a tremendous amount of fatigue, but

they are so far just saying they don't know why I have it, they aren't even

close to saying Chronic Fatigue on any level.

Darcy,

I think that fibro and chronic fatigue are two sides of a coin. The symptoms

are pretty much the same. I think if you have one you usually have them both.

Darcy,

I think its a way of saying the same thing. " You have fatigue and

its chronic or long term, but we can't give you a reason. " That's

basically it. My doctor doesn't want to call it 'Chronic Fatigue

Syndrome' for various reasons from insurance to his own 'unique' way

of not using what he calls 'allopathic' or regular medical terms.

Basically I have fatigue I never get over with no cause.

Marla not meaning to be nosey but what part of Ohio do you live in. My

twin sister lives in a small town called Poland real near to Youngstown.

She has fibromyalgia also but has had it a lot longer than I. It is so

amazing the number of people with this illness, and even more on how

debilating it is. Anyway you guys might be able to share some feelings

if you are close enough. If You do not want to comment that is fine.

Welcome to the group and I hope at least he is helpful in keeping your

symptoms at a minimalso important with this illlness. Deana

Deana

I think that fibro and chronic fatigue are two sides of a coin. The

symptoms

are pretty much the same. I think if you have one you usually have them

both.

Take care,

Irene

Oh goody, can I send my coin back and get a different, better one??
