Guest guest
National Public Radio. They said there was a new drug so effective in fighting cancer, they named at least 3 types of cancer it is effective against and bc was one of them, that the company that makes it has raised the price to $100,000 a year. I went to their web page but I cant seem to find the piece. I know I did not hallucinate this. Guest guest
Well we need to find it out. I will try to find out and then we need to spread this far and wide. They also said that 46% of all the money spent on drug research is not from the drug companies but directly from the American tax payer. They take our money to research and then when they have something good, they price out of reach for the average person. If this is true, it could be the difference between life and death for people on this list. Right now, I am given a 50/50 chance of survival. There is no way I could pay for a drug like that. This is just insane. If this is correct, we need to start a campaign against these people. Of coarse that is difficult to do because they spend so much money on political contributions!!! Guest guest
I cannot find it in the archives. I don't know why. I have sent a letter to them asking for help in finding this article. Once we get, we need to go on a crusade. Everyone knows or has known someone with one of these cancers. We have to do this because the politicians sure as heck are not going to do it. I want to send this info to every e mail group I can find with any and all cancer patients on it. I am so mad, I could spit!!! Guest guest
Help? Ever since my computer got fixed a while ago, I don't have audio. That means I cannot listen to the program on line. If someone would be willing to use the link below and go to archives, then click on Wed the fifteenth. I do think that is correct and listen to the show, it would really help. Have pen and paper in hand? I would do this but I cant listen on my computer. I really think that Wed is correct, if not it is Thurs. Thanks Patty -----Original Message-----From: breastcancer2 [mailto:breastcancer2 ]On Behalf Of ssist@...Sent: Saturday, February 18, 2006 4:04 PMTo: breastcancer2 Subject: Re: RE: Patty http://www.npr.org/ Click on Archives - that ought to help! Guest guest
Don't give up!! Most drug companies have patient assistance programs and I've helped many patients get medications for no charge!! In the case of Neulasta, go to http://www.reimbursementconnection.com/. Hope everyone is well, sorry I haven't been around much, we're opening a new heart hospital at work so things have been very busy!! Also, I start my training for the Boston Breast Cancer 3-Day tomorrow, I can't wait to get started. I'll be thinking of you all with every training step I take!! Glad to be a supporter, Ellie www.the3day.org/Boston06/edesselle > > Patty I agree. I have no insurance at all and just vringe when they show the comercial on tv for Neulasta. Guest guest
Hi Patty, I did hear about this new cancer drug as a 100% cure. It cost like $3,000 or month something like that cost when the AIDS cocktail came out. Of course, I don't think it is FDA approved yet. But the good news; maybe in five years it will be and it will be cheaper for us. SharonCPatty wrote: Well we need to find it out. I will try to find out and then we need to spread this far and wide. Guest guest
When we get more info, we need to go on the war path. That is my opinion. They use our money for their research and then cut us out with a terrible price. Lots of ladies don't have 5 years. I have a friend with mets that I worry about all the time. This is just not right.
