Guest guest
Actually Irene, the defination is a bit broader than that. But that's certainly part of it. Guest guest
I disagree. Spam includes these forwarded messages, especially jokes which many people detest. Anything forwarded is a form of spam if the other person did not request it. Gena --- patidu@... wrote: > I might mention that Spam is not jokes, personal > news or things of that > nature. Guest guest
I am not getting any Spam. I get an awful lot of email too. I think that I would change my email address. I had to do that once when someone got into my account thanks to the son of a friend of mine who downloaded something he should not have. People were getting porno in my name. Worked with AOL who caught him online using my address and they took care of him. Take care, Irene > > I am receiving loads of SPAM. From people you never heard of? Hi Pat, I just wanted to know that I get the occassional spam email, but only 2-4 a week, so it is not many. I know that signing up for stuff on websites can get you many emails, but I am sure there are people who get paid to " search " for newbies on newsgroups, email servers and all that stuff. I don't even open a letter that I do not know who it is from so I can't get hurt from it. It is a pain to get it, but hopefully it will stop for you or at least slow down. Guest guest
Pat, I keep a throw away e-mail address just for spam at NetAddress (same as hotmail). Whenever I sign up for anything on the net, register software, etc, I use this address and the spam all goes there. Once a month or so I go and delete all the mail or if it gets too bad I can delete the whole account and start another. B > I am receiving loads of SPAM. Guest guest
I received at least 10 e-mails today from the same screen name, and it's only 4:55 p.m. Enough already! I have noticed there are a few screen names who routinely send multiple e-mails on a daily basis. If I don't check my e-mail for a couple of days, I can have around 200 e-mails waiting me, or more. This can be especially hard to wade through, especially if I'm feeling " foggy " . Also, if an e-mail is specifically from one person to one other person, wouldn't it be more appropriate to simply send them a standard e-mail, and not bog down the group? I don't mean to be a whiner, but I simply can't deal with this amount of e-mail on a regular basis, due to " fog. " Thanks Bobaren
Guest guest
You can always opt to read the messages on line only and not get any emails at all and still keep up. If you have added your name to any list serve and you get messages pertaining to that topic from other members then it is NOT SPAM. > I received at least 10 e-mails today from the same screen name, and it's only > 4:55 p.m. Enough already!
