Not to open the can of worms again but the whole posting of pure

verbal apraxia and all made me feel as though I was possibly on the

wrong list, but as several people posted feeling the same I decided

to hang out. Now our OT has informed us that after seeing Nick for

a month she feels that she has completely evaluated him and she can

see NO concerns, no discrepancies in fine or gross, no sensory

issues. She said that it would be fun to keep seeing him but she

wouldn't feel right billing us every week when he simply does not

need it. She told me that people might be expecting his fine motor

to be what his gross motor is but that would be unfair as his gross

motor is above age level. She said that none of her apraxic clients

are like this and she has never seen a child with apraxia not have

motor planning issues in their bodies. She wondered out loud if the

neurologist diagnosed him correctly. Part of me feels as though the

diagnosis doesn't matter that much but if it could be something else

I really want to know. Jeez this is confusing!

Now to the FRUSTRATED part . . . I think it was one of Marcia's

posts (please forgive me if I'm also confused on that!) that

said, " If you have to ask if your SLP is good, then you already know

the answer " that hit me like a TON of bricks! I am very unsure of

Nick's SLP but in calling around to the other SLP's in the area I am

getting NO call backs. The E.I. program has already told me that

there is no one else that can see him at 3 X's a week. So are we

just to stay with one that is not a great fit!? How in the world do

I get these people to acknowledge our presence!? I am starting to

feel invisible! I have left messages with voice mail, and

receptionists now I simply don't know how to get past this without

taking my son to their offices and camping out!

Sorry I realize this is written in vent language but I really do

need suggestions.
