The name Andy Ripley will probably mean very little

to most of the people on this List because he was a British International Rugby

player – and a very good one at that.

Andy was diagnosed in on 24th June 2005. He was 57

when he was diagnosed, his initial PSA was 133 ng/ml, his Gleason Score was 7

and he was staged T3a. He was treated initially with ADT (Androgen Deprivation

Therapy). His treatment failed and despite all efforts at alternatives his PSA

rose in December to a level of 7,000 ng/ml.

There is an excellent interview with him on the

British newspaper Telegraph website at http://tinyurl.com/TeleAndyR Would that

we all had his courage and outlook. Some details of Andy’s story is on my

website at http://www.yananow.net/Mentors/AndyR.htm
