Guest guest
HI all, I just spent the last couple of hours (or more) really going over that site in great detail that Ora recently sent on (thanks Ora) http://cmr.asm.org/cgi/content/full/12/1/80#SEC4_1_8 It's all about yeast and especially the Glabrata strain, but it had much information as well on Candida... I'm a very fast reader and it still took that long because I was trying to absorb it all as well as take notes. *grin* Anyway it's 'exceptionally long and somewhat technical so I made 'myself' all kinds of short blurbs. (but that's long too) so if anyone would like that, I can send it on privately. it's just too long (even tho they're notes) for here. Let me know if you think it'll help or would want to read it. Happy to send it on. A few quick things I picked out were how common the glabrata strain was for the urethra. also one theory that long term use of Diflucan for maintenance may actually be a cause or trigger for the Glabrata strain. Also how the Glabrata strain is resistant to Diflucan (fluconazole) and likely to be in post menopausal women. Also often less inflammation or discharge with Glabrata and many various medications are suggested (as well as the Boric acid) Those are just off the top of my head) *grin* I really enjoy those long papers and highlighting certain things but it can definitely be boring for many... so for what it's worth. If you can check out the site itself is really good but like I said exceptionally long. Dee DTroll@...
